1 Nicht uns, HERR, nicht uns, sondern deinem Namen gib Ehre, um deiner Güte, um deiner Wahrheit willen! 2 Warum sollen die Nationen sagen: Wo ist denn ihr Gott? 3 Aber unser Gott ist in den Himmeln; alles, was ihm wohlgefällt, tut er. 4 Ihre Götzen sind Silber und Gold, ein Werk von Menschenhänden. 5 Einen Mund haben sie und reden nicht; Augen haben sie und sehen nicht; 6 Ohren haben sie und hören nicht; eine Nase haben sie und riechen nicht; 7 sie haben Hände und tasten nicht, Füße, und sie gehen nicht; keinen Laut geben sie mit ihrer Kehle. 8 Ihnen gleich sind die, die sie machen, jeder, der auf sie vertraut. 9 Israel, vertraue auf den HERRN! Ihre Hilfe und ihr Schild ist er. 10 Haus Aaron, vertraut auf den HERRN! Ihre Hilfe und ihr Schild ist er. 11 Ihr, die ihr den HERRN fürchtet, vertraut auf den HERRN! Ihre Hilfe und ihr Schild ist er. 12 Der HERR hat unser gedacht, er wird segnen; er wird segnen das Haus Israel, segnen das Haus Aaron. 13 Er wird segnen, die den HERRN fürchten, die Kleinen mit den Großen. 14 Der HERR wird zu euch hinzufügen, zu euch und zu euren Kindern. 15 Gesegnet seid ihr von dem HERRN, der Himmel und Erde gemacht hat. 16 Die Himmel sind die Himmel des HERRN, die Erde aber hat er den Menschenkindern gegeben. 17 Die Toten werden den HERRN nicht loben, noch alle, die zum Schweigen hinabfahren; 18 wir aber, wir werden den HERRN preisen von nun an bis in Ewigkeit.
