1 (Dem Vorsänger. Ein Psalm von David.) 2 Die Himmel erzählen die Herrlichkeit Gottes, und die Ausdehnung verkündet seiner Hände Werk. 3 Ein Tag berichtet es dem anderen, und eine Nacht meldet der anderen die Nachricht davon. 4 Keine Rede und keine Worte, doch gehört wird ihre Stimme. 5 Ihre Messschnur geht aus über die ganze Erde, und bis an das Ende des Erdkreises ihre Sprache. Er hat der Sonne in ihnen ein Zelt gesetzt, 6 und sie ist wie ein Bräutigam, der hervortritt aus seinem Gemach; sie freut sich wie ein Held, zu durchlaufen die Bahn. 7 Vom Ende der Himmel ist ihr Ausgang, und ihr Umlauf bis zu ihren Enden; und nichts ist vor ihrer Glut verborgen. 8 Das Gesetz des HERRN ist vollkommen und erquickt die Seele; das Zeugnis des HERRN ist zuverlässig und macht weise den Einfältigen. 9 Die Vorschriften des HERRN sind richtig und erfreuen das Herz; das Gebot des HERRN ist lauter und erleuchtet die Augen. 10 Die Furcht des HERRN ist rein und besteht in Ewigkeit. Die Rechte des HERRN sind Wahrheit, sie sind gerecht allesamt; 11 sie, die köstlicher sind als Gold und viel gediegenes Gold, und süßer als Honig und Honigseim. 12 Auch wird dein Knecht durch sie belehrt; im Beobachten derselben ist großer Lohn. 13 Verirrungen, wer sieht sie ein? Von verborgenen Sünden reinige mich! 14 Auch von übermütigen halte deinen Knecht zurück; lass sie mich nicht beherrschen! Dann bin ich tadellos und bin rein von großer Übertretung. 15 Lass die Reden meines Mundes und das Sinnen meines Herzens wohlgefällig vor dir sein, HERR, mein Fels und mein Erlöser!
