1 Pourquoi les nations s’agitent-elles ? Pourquoi les peuples grondent-ils en vain ? 2 Les rois de la terre se postent, les princes se liguent ensemble contre le Seigneur et contre l’homme qui a reçu son onction : 3 Brisons leurs liens, secouons leurs chaînes ! 4 Il rit, celui qui habite le ciel, le Seigneur se moque d’eux. 5 Il leur parle dans sa colère, dans sa fureur il les épouvante : 6 C’est moi qui ai investi mon roi sur Sion, ma montagne sacrée ! 7 Je vais proclamer le décret du Seigneur ; il m’a dit : Tu es mon fils ! C’est moi qui t’ai engendré aujourd’hui. 8 Demande-moi et je te donnerai les nations comme patrimoine, comme propriété les extrémités de la terre ; 9 tu les briseras avec un sceptre de fer. Comme une poterie tu les mettras en pièces. 10 Et maintenant, rois, ayez du bon sens ! Recevez l’instruction, juges de la terre ! 11 Servez le Seigneur avec crainte, soyez dans l’allégresse en frissonnant. 12 Embrassez le fils, de peur qu’il ne se mette en colère et que vous ne disparaissiez en chemin ; car sa colère s’enflamme vite. Heureux tous ceux qui trouvent en lui un abri !
