1 யோதாம் ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்தைந்து வயதாயிருந்து, பதினாறு வருடங்கள் எருசலேமிலே ஆட்சிசெய்தான்; சாதோக்கின் மகளாகிய அவனுடைய தாயின் பெயர் எருசாள். 2 அவன் தன் தகப்பனாகிய உசியா செய்தபடியெல்லாம் யெகோவாவின் பார்வைக்கு செம்மையானதைச் செய்தான்; ஆனாலும் அவனைப்போல யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்திற்குள் பிரவேசியாதிருந்தான்; மக்கள் இன்னும் தங்களைக் கெடுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். 3 அவன் யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்தின் உயர்ந்த வாசலைக் கட்டினதுமல்லாமல், ஓபேலின் மதிலின்மேல் அநேக கட்டிடங்களையும் கட்டினான். 4 யூதாவின் மலைகளிலே பட்டணங்களையும், காடுகளிலே கோட்டைகளையும் கோபுரங்களையும் கட்டினான். 5 அவன் அம்மோனியருடைய ராஜாவோடு போர்செய்து அவர்களை மேற்கொண்டான்; ஆதலால் அம்மோனியர்கள் அவனுக்கு அந்த வருடத்திலே நூறு தாலந்து வெள்ளியையும், பத்தாயிரம் கலம் கோதுமையையும், பத்தாயிரம் கலம் வாற்கோதுமையையும் கொடுத்தார்கள்; இரண்டாம் மூன்றாம் வருடத்திலும் அம்மோனியர்கள் அப்படியே அவனுக்கு செலுத்தினார்கள். 6 யோதாம் தன்னுடைய வழிகளைத் தன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக ஒழுங்குபடுத்தியதால் பலப்பட்டான். 7 யோதாமின் மற்ற காரியங்களும், அவனுடைய அனைத்து போர்களும், அவனுடைய செயல்களும், இஸ்ரவேல் மற்றும் யூதா ராஜாக்களின் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. 8 அவன் ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்தைந்து வயதாயிருந்து, பதினாறு வருடங்கள் எருசலேமில் ஆட்சிசெய்தான். 9 யோதாம் இறந்தபின்பு, அவனை தாவீதின் நகரத்திலே அடக்கம்செய்தார்கள்; அவன் மகனாகிய ஆகாஸ் அவனுடைய இடத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.
