Proverbs 21 (ELBE)
1 Gleich Wasserbächen ist das Herz eines Königs in der Hand des HERRN; wohin immer er will, neigt er es. 2 Jeder Weg eines Mannes ist in seinen Augen gerade, aber der HERR prüft die Herzen. 3 Gerechtigkeit und Recht üben ist dem HERRN angenehmer als Opfer. 4 Stolz der Augen und Hochmut des Herzens, die Leuchte der Gottlosen, sind Sünde. 5 Die Gedanken des Fleißigen führen nur zum Überfluss; und jeder, der hastig ist – es ist nur zum Mangel. 6 Erwerb von Schätzen durch Lügenzunge ist verwehender Dunst; solche suchen den Tod. 7 Die Gewalttätigkeit der Gottlosen rafft sie weg, denn sie weigern sich, Recht zu üben. 8 Der der Weg des schuldbeladenen Mannes ist vielgewunden; der Lautere aber, sein Tun ist gerade. 9 Besser ist es, auf einer Dachecke zu wohnen, als eine zänkische Frau und ein gemeinsames Haus zu haben. 10 Die Seele des Gottlosen begehrt das Böse: sein Nächster findet keine Gnade in seinen Augen. 11 Wenn man den Spötter bestraft, so wird der Einfältige weise; und wenn man den Weisen belehrt, so nimmt er Erkenntnis an. 12 Ein Gerechter hat acht auf das Haus des Gottlosen, er stürzt die Gottlosen ins Unglück. 13 Wer sein Ohr verstopft vor dem Schrei des Armen, auch er wird rufen und nicht erhört werden. 14 Eine Gabe im Verborgenen wendet den Zorn ab, und ein Geschenk im Gewandbausch den heftigen Grimm. 15 Dem Gerechten ist es Freude, Recht zu üben; aber denen, die Frevel tun, ein Schrecken. 16 Ein Mensch, der von dem Weg der Einsicht abirrt, wird ruhen in der Versammlung der Schatten. 17 Wer Freude liebt, wird ein Mann des Mangels werden; wer Wein und Öl liebt, wird nicht reich. 18 Der Gottlose ist ein Lösegeld für den Gerechten, und der Treulose tritt an die Stelle der Aufrichtigen. 19 Besser ist es, in einem wüsten Land zu wohnen, als eine zänkische Frau und Ärger zu haben. 20 Ein kostbarer Schatz und Öl ist in der Wohnung des Weisen, aber ein törichter Mensch verschlingt es. 21 Wer der Gerechtigkeit und der Güte nachjagt, wird Leben finden, Gerechtigkeit und Ehre. 22 Der Weise ersteigt die Stadt der Helden und stürzt die Festung ihres Vertrauens nieder. 23 Wer seinen Mund und seine Zunge bewahrt, bewahrt seine Seele vor Drangsalen. 24 Der Übermütige, Stolze – Spötter ist sein Name – handelt mit vermessenem Übermut. 25 Die Begierde des Faulen tötet ihn, denn seine Hände weigern sich, zu arbeiten. 26 Den ganzen Tag begehrt und begehrt man, aber der Gerechte gibt und hält nicht zurück. 27 Das Opfer der Gottlosen ist ein Gräuel; wieviel mehr, wenn er es in böser Absicht bringt! 28 Ein Lügenzeuge wird umkommen; ein Mann aber, der hört, darf immer reden. 29 Ein gottloser Mann zeigt ein trotziges Gesicht; aber der Aufrichtige, er achtet auf seinen Weg. 30 Da ist keine Weisheit und keine Einsicht und kein Rat gegenüber dem HERRN. 31 Das Pferd wird gerüstet für den Tag des Kampfes, aber die Rettung kommt von dem HERRN.
