1 Et la parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée en ces mots : 2 Fils d'homme, tourne ta face contre les montagnes d'Israël, et prophétise contre elles et dis : 3 Montagnes d'Israël, écoutez la parole du Seigneur, l'Eternel : Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel, aux montagnes et aux collines, aux vallées et aux ravins : Voici, je fais venir sur vous l'épée et je détruirai vos hauts lieux. 4 Vos autels seront dévastés et vos colonnes solaires seront brisées, et je ferai tomber vos blessés à mort devant vos idoles. 5 Et je mettrai les cadavres des enfants d'Israël devant leurs idoles et je sèmerai vos os autour de vos autels. 6 Partout où vous habitez, les villes seront désolées et les hauts lieux dévastés, afin que vos autels soient désolés et punis, vos idoles brisées et anéanties, vos colonnes solaires abattues et vos ouvrages balayés. 7 Et il tombera au milieu de vous des blessés à mort, et vous saurez que je suis l'Eternel. 8 Et je vous laisserai un reste ; car vous aurez des réchappés du glaive parmi les nations, quand vous serez dispersés en divers pays. 9 Et vos réchappés se souviendront de moi chez les nations où ils auront été emmenés captifs, eux dont j'aurai brisé le cœur adultère qui s'est détourné de moi et les yeux adultères qui se sont tournés vers leurs idoles, et ils regarderont avec dégoût le mal qu'ils ont fait en commettant leurs abominations. 10 Et ils sauront que je suis l'Eternel : ce n'est pas en vain que je les ai menacés de ce mal. 11 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel : Frappe dans ta main et bats du pied et dis : Hélas ! à cause de toutes les méchantes abominations de la maison d'Israël, qui va périr par l'épée, par la famine et par la peste. 12 Celui qui sera loin mourra de la peste, et celui qui sera près tombera par l'épée ; celui qui demeurera de reste et sera conservé, mourra par la famine, et j'assouvirai sur eux mon courroux. 13 Et vous saurez que je suis l'Eternel, quand leurs morts seront mêlés à leurs idoles autour de leurs autels, sur toute colline élevée, sur le sommet de toutes les montagnes, sous tout arbre vert et sous tout chêne au feuillage touffu, dans les lieux où ils ont offert à toutes leurs idoles un encens agréable. 14 Et j'étendrai ma main contre eux et je rendrai le pays plus dévasté et plus désolé que le désert de Diblath, partout où ils habitent, et ils sauront que je suis l'Eternel.
