1 Louez l'Eternel ! Louez le nom de l'Eternel ! Louez-le, serviteurs de l'Eternel, 2 Qui vous tenez dans la maison de l'Eternel, Dans les parvis de la maison de notre Dieu. 3 Louez l'Eternel, car l'Eternel est bon ; Psalmodiez à son nom, car il est aimable. 4 Car l'Eternel s'est choisi Jacob, Israël, pour son peuple particulier. 5 Car je sais que l'Eternel est grand Et que notre Seigneur est au-dessus de tous les dieux. 6 Tout ce que l'Eternel veut, il le fait Dans les cieux et sur la terre, Dans les mers et tous les abîmes, 7 Lui qui fait monter les nuées des extrémités de la terre, Qui produit les éclairs précédant la pluie, Qui fait sortir le vent de ses arsenaux. 8 C'est lui qui frappa les premiers-nés de l'Egypte, Depuis les hommes jusqu'au bétail. 9 Il lança au milieu de toi, ô Egypte, des signes et des prodiges Sur Pharaon et tous ses serviteurs. 10 C'est lui qui frappa de grandes nations Et mit à mort des rois puissants : 11 Sihon, roi des Amorrhéens, et Og, roi de Basan, Et tous les royaumes de Canaan. 12 Et il donna leur pays en héritage, En héritage à Israël, son peuple. 13 Eternel, ton nom est à toujours ; Eternel, ta mémoire est d'âge en âge. 14 Car l'Eternel fera droit à son peuple Et il se repentira en faveur de ses serviteurs. 15 Les idoles des nations sont de l'argent et de l'or, Un ouvrage de mains d'hommes. 16 Elles ont une bouche et ne parlent pas, Elles ont des yeux et ne voient pas, 17 Elles ont des oreilles et n'entendent pas ; Il n'y a point non plus de souffle dans leur bouche. 18 Ils leur ressemblent, ceux qui les font, Tous ceux qui mettent leur confiance en elles. 19 Maison d'Israël, bénissez l'Eternel ! Maison d'Aaron, bénissez l'Eternel ! 20 Maison de Lévi, bénissez l'Eternel ! Vous qui craignez l'Eternel, bénissez l'Eternel ! 21 Béni soit de Sion l'Eternel, Qui habite Jérusalem ! Louez l'Eternel !
