1 Rāt ko jab maiṅ bistar par leṭī thī to maiṅ ne use ḍhūnḍā jo merī jān kā pyārā hai, maiṅ ne use ḍhūnḍā lekin na pāyā. 2 Maiṅ bolī, “Ab maiṅ uṭh kar shahr meṅ ghūmtī, us kī galiyoṅ aur chaukoṅ meṅ phir kar use talāsh kartī hūṅ jo merī jān kā pyārā hai.” Maiṅ ḍhūṅḍtī rahī lekin wuh na milā. 3 Jo chaukīdār shahr meṅ gasht karte haiṅ unhoṅ ne mujhe dekhā. Maiṅ ne pūchhā, “Kyā āp ne use dekhā hai jo merī jān kā pyārā hai?” 4 Āge nikalte hī mujhe wuh mil gayā jo merī jān kā pyārā hai. Maiṅ ne use pakaṛ liyā. Ab maiṅ use nahīṅ chhoṛūṅgī jab tak use apnī māṅ ke ghar meṅ na le jāūṅ, us ke kamre meṅ na pahuṅchāūṅ jis ne mujhe janm diyā thā. 5 Ai Yarūshalam kī beṭiyo, ġhazāloṅ aur khule maidān kī hirniyoṅ kī qasam khāo ki jab tak muhabbat ḳhud na chāhe tum use na jagāogī, na bedār karogī. 6 Yih kaun hai jo dhueṅ ke satūn kī tarah sīdhā hamāre pās chalā ā rahā hai? Us se chāroṅ taraf mur, baḳhūr aur tājir kī tamām ḳhushbueṅ phail rahī haiṅ. 7 Yih to Sulemān kī pālkī hai jo Isrāīl ke 60 pahalwānoṅ se ghirī huī hai. 8 Sab talwār se lais aur tajrabākār faujī haiṅ. Har ek ne apnī talwār ko rāt ke haulnāk ḳhatroṅ kā sāmnā karne ke lie taiyār kar rakhā hai. 9 Sulemān Bādshāh ne ḳhud yih pālkī Lubnān ke deodār kī lakaṛī se banwāī. 10 Us ne us ke pāe chāṅdī se, pusht sone se, aur nishast arġhawānī rang ke kapṛe se banwāī. Yarūshalam kī beṭiyoṅ ne baṛe pyār se us kā andarūnī hissā murassākārī se ārāstā kiyā hai. 11 Ai Siyyūn kī beṭiyo, nikal āo aur Sulemān Bādshāh ko dekho. Us ke sar par wuh tāj hai jo us kī māṅ ne us kī shādī ke din us ke sar par pahnāyā, us din jab us kā dil bāġh bāġh huā.
