Isaiah 25 (AS21)
1 Ó SENHOR, tu és o meu Deus; eu te exaltarei e louvarei o teu nome, porque fizeste maravilhas; os teus conselhos antigos são fidelidade perene. 2 Porque transformaste a cidade numa pilha de destroços, e a cidade fortificada, numa ruína; a cidadela dos estrangeiros deixou de ser cidade; jamais será edificada. 3 Porque um povo poderoso te glorificará, e a cidade das nações opressoras te temerá. 4 Pois tens sido a fortaleza do pobre, a fortaleza do necessitado na hora da angústia, refúgio contra a tempestade e sombra contra o calor, quando o sopro dos opressores vem contra o muro como a tempestade. 5 Abaterás o tumulto dos estrangeiros como o calor do deserto; como o calor se abranda pela sombra da nuvem espessa, assim cessará o cântico dos tiranos. 6 Neste monte o SENHOR dos Exércitos dará a todos os povos um rico banquete, banquete de vinhos envelhecidos; de comidas gordurosas com tutano e de vinhos envelhecidos, bem puros. 7 Neste monte ele destruirá o manto que cobre todos os povos e o véu que está sobre todas as nações. 8 Aniquilará a morte para sempre, e assim o SENHOR Deus enxugará as lágrimas de todos os rostos e tirará de toda a terra a humilhação do seu povo; porque o SENHOR o disse. 9 Naquele dia, se dirá: Este é o nosso Deus; temos esperado nele para que nos salve. Este é o SENHOR; temos esperado nele; nós exultaremos e nos alegraremos na sua salvação. 10 Porque a mão do SENHOR repousará neste monte, e Moabe será pisado no seu lugar, assim como se pisa a palha na água do monte de esterco. 11 Ali Moabe estenderá as mãos, como o nadador as estende para nadar; mas o SENHOR abaterá a sua arrogância, apesar da agilidade das mãos de Moabe. 12 Derrubará as altas fortalezas dos teus muros; ele as abaterá e as derrubará até o pó.
