1 Usa ka adlaw, nagtigom na usab ang mga anghel sa presensya sa GINOO, ug nagauban gihapon kanila si Satanas. 2 Miingon ang GINOO kang Satanas, “Asa ka gikan?” Mitubag si Satanas sa GINOO, “Naglibot-libot ako sa kalibotan.” 3 Miingon ang GINOO kaniya, “Nakamatikod ka ba sa akong alagad nga si Job? Walay sama kaniya sa kalibotan. Matarong siya ug walay ikasaway sa iyang kinabuhi. Nagatahod siya kanako ug nagalikay sa paghimo ug daotan. Ug nagpabilin gihapon siyang matinumanon kanako bisag gidani mo ako sa paglaglag kaniya sa walay hinungdan.” 4 Mitubag si Satanas, “Dawaton sa tawo nga mawala ang tanan kaniya basta buhi lang siya. 5 Apan siya gani mismo ang sakita ug sigurado gayod nga tunglohon ka niya.” 6 Miingon ang GINOO kang Satanas, “Sige, buhata ang gusto mong buhaton kaniya, apan ayaw lang siyag patya.” 7 Busa mibiya si Satanas sa presensya sa GINOO ug gisakit niya si Job pinaagi sa mga hubag-hubag nga nanubo diha sa iyang lapalapa hangtod sa iyang ulo. 8 Nagkuha si Job ug buak nga kolon ug gikagis sa iyang mga hubag-hubag samtang naglingkod siya sa abo. 9 Giingnan siya sa iyang asawa, “Magpabilin ka pa ba gihapon nga matinumanon diha sa Dios? Tungloha siya aron mamatay ka na!” 10 Mitubag si Job, “Walay pulos ang imong gipanulti. Ang maayo lang ba diay ang atong dawaton gikan sa Dios, ug dili ang daotan?”Bisan sa nahitabo kaniya, wala makasala si Job pinaagi sa pagsultig daotan. 11 Adunay tulo ka higala si Job nga sila si Elifaz nga taga-Teman, si Bildad nga taga-Shua, ug si Zofar nga taga-Naama. Sa dihang nabalitaan nila ang kalisdanan nga midangat kang Job, nagkasabot sila nga adtoan siya aron duyogan sa iyang kasubo ug lipayon. 12 Layo pa sila, nakita na nila si Job, ug halos wala nila kini mailhi. Nanghilak sila ug kusog ug gigisi nila ang ilang mga bisti ug gibutangan ug abog ang ilang mga ulo sa pagpakita sa ilang pagsubo. 13 Unya nanglingkod sila sa yuta uban kang Job sulod sa pito ka adlaw ug pito ka gabii. Wala gayod kanilay nakigsulti kaniya tungod kay nakita nila kon unsa kadako ang iyang pag-antos.
