1 Mein Sohn, bewahre meine Worte, und meine Gebote birg bei dir; 2 bewahre meine Gebote und lebe, und meine Belehrung wie deinen Augapfel. 3 Binde sie um deine Finger, schreibe sie auf die Tafel deines Herzens. 4 Sprich zur Weisheit: Du bist meine Schwester! Und nenne den Verstand deinen Verwandten; 5 damit sie dich vor der fremden Frau bewahre, vor der Fremden, die ihre Worte glättet. 6 Denn an dem Fenster meines Hauses schaute ich durch mein Gitter hinaus; 7 und ich sah unter den Einfältigen, bemerkte unter den Söhnen einen unverständigen Jüngling, 8 der auf der Straße hin und her ging, neben ihrer Ecke, und den Weg zu ihrem Haus schritt, 9 in der Dämmerung, am Abend des Tages, in der Mitte der Nacht und in der Dunkelheit. 10 Und siehe, eine Frau kam ihm entgegen im Anzug einer Hure und mit verstecktem Herzen. – 11 Sie ist leidenschaftlich und unbändig, ihre Füße bleiben nicht in ihrem Haus; 12 bald ist sie draußen, bald auf den Straßen, und neben jeder Ecke lauert sie. – 13 Und sie ergriff ihn und küsste ihn, und mit unverschämtem Angesicht sprach sie zu ihm: 14 Friedensopfer lagen mir auf, heute habe ich meine Gelübde bezahlt; 15 darum bin ich ausgegangen, dir entgegen, um dein Angesicht zu suchen, und ich habe dich gefunden. 16 Ich habe mein Bett mit Teppichen bereitet, mit bunten Decken von ägyptischem Garn; 17 ich habe mein Lager mit Myrrhe, Aloe und Zimt benetzt. 18 Komm, wir wollen uns in Liebe berauschen bis an den Morgen, uns an Liebkosungen ergötzen. 19 Denn der Mann ist nicht zu Hause, er ist auf eine weite Reise gegangen; 20 er hat den Geldbeutel in seine Hand genommen, am Tag des Vollmonds wird er heimkehren. 21 Sie verleitete ihn durch ihr vieles Zureden, riss ihn fort durch die Glätte ihrer Lippen. 22 Auf einmal ging er ihr nach, wie ein Ochse zur Schlachtbank geht und wie Fußfesseln zur Züchtigung des Narren dienen, 23 bis ein Pfeil seine Leber zerspaltet; wie ein Vogel zur Schlinge eilt und nicht weiß, dass es sein Leben gilt. 24 Nun denn, ihr Söhne, hört auf mich, und horcht auf die Worte meines Mundes! 25 Dein Herz wende sich nicht nach ihren Wegen ab, und irre nicht umher auf ihren Pfaden! 26 Denn viele Erschlagene hat sie niedergestreckt, und zahlreich sind alle ihre Ermordeten. 27 Ihr Haus sind Wege zum Scheol, die zu den Kammern des Todes hinabführen.
