1 Meu filho, guardeas minhas palavrase conserve os meus mandamentosem seu coração. 2 Observe os meus mandamentose você viverá;guarde a minha leicomo a menina dos seus olhos. 3 Amarre-os aos dedos,escreva-os na tábuado seu coração. 4 Diga à Sabedoria:“Você é minha irmã”;e ao Entendimento:“Você é meu parente.” 5 Eles o guardarãoda mulher imoral,da estranha que lisonjeiacom palavras. 6 Porque da janela da minha casa,olhando pela grade, 7 vi entre os ingênuos,e descobri entre os jovensum que não tinha juízo. 8 Ele ia e vinha pela ruajunto à esquinada mulher estranhae seguia o caminho da casa dela, 9 no crepúsculo, ao anoitecer,na escuridão da noite, nas trevas. 10 Eis que a mulherlhe saiu ao encontro,com roupas de prostitutae astúcia no coração. 11 É espalhafatosa e inquieta;os seus pés não param em casa. 12 Ora está nas ruas,ora, nas praças,espreitando por todos os cantos. 13 Ela agarrou o jovem e o beijou;e com o maior descaramentolhe disse: 14 “Eu tinha de oferecersacrifícios pacíficos;hoje paguei os meus votos. 15 Por isso, saí ao seu encontro;vim procurá-lo,e agora o encontrei! 16 Já cobri de colchasa minha cama,de linho fino do Egito,de várias cores. 17 Já perfumei o meu leitocom mirra, aloés e cinamomo. 18 Venha, vamos nos embriagarcom as delícias do amor,até o amanhecer;gozemos amores. 19 Porque o meu maridonão está em casa;saiu de viagem para longe. 20 Levou consigo uma bolsacheia de dinheiro;não voltará para casaantes da lua cheia.” 21 Ela o seduziucom as suas muitas palavras,com as lisonjas dos seus lábioso arrastou. 22 E, num instante, ele a seguiu,como um boique vai para o matadouro;como um animalque corre para a armadilha, 23 até que uma flechalhe atravesse o coração.Ele era como a ave que correpara dentro do alçapão,sem saber que istolhe custará a vida. 24 Agora, meu filho,escute o que eu digoe dê atençãoàs palavras da minha boca. 25 Não deixe que o seu coraçãose desvie para os caminhosdessa mulher,e não ande perdidonas suas veredas. 26 Porque a muitosela feriu e derrubou;e são muitos os quepor ela foram mortos. 27 A casa dela é caminhopara o abismoe desce para as câmaras da morte.
