Isaiah 61 (LBA)
1 L'Esprit du Seigneur, l'Eternel, est sur moi, parce que l'Eternel m'a oint pour porter la bonne nouvelle aux débonnaires ; il m'a envoyé pour panser ceux qui ont le cœur brisé, pour annoncer aux captifs la liberté et aux prisonniers le retour à la lumière ; 2 pour annoncer une année de grâce de l'Eternel et un jour de vengeance de notre Dieu ; pour consoler tous les affligés ; 3 pour apporter aux affligés de Sion et leur mettre un diadème au lieu de cendre, l'huile de joie au lieu du deuil, un manteau de fête au lieu d'un esprit abattu, afin qu'on les appelle les chênes de justice, que l'Eternel a plantés pour sa gloire. 4 Ils rebâtiront les ruines antiques ; ils relèveront les décombres d'autrefois ; ils restaureront les villes détruites, les décombres des plus anciens âges ; 5 les étrangers y demeureront et paîtront vos troupeaux ; les fils de l'étranger seront vos laboureurs et vos vignerons. 6 Mais vous, on vous appellera les sacrificateurs de l'Eternel ; on vous nommera les ministres de notre Dieu ; vous mangerez les richesses des nations, et vous vous parerez de leur gloire. 7 Au lieu de votre honte, vous aurez double part ; au lieu d'opprobre..., ils se réjouiront de leur sort ; ils posséderont ainsi double part dans le pays ; il y aura pour eux une joie éternelle. 8 Car moi, l'Eternel, j'aime la droiture ; je hais le pillage fait avec perfidie ; je leur donnerai fidèlement leur salaire, et je traiterai avec eux une alliance éternelle. 9 Leur race sera renommée parmi les nations, et leur postérité au milieu des peuples ; tous ceux qui les verront reconnaîtront qu'ils sont une race bénie de l'Eternel. 10 Je me réjouirai en l'Eternel ; mon âme s'égaiera en mon Dieu, parce qu'il m'a revêtu des vêtements du salut et m'a couvert du manteau de la justice, comme le fiancé se pare d'un diadème, comme la mariée s'orne de sa parure. 11 Car comme la terre fait pousser ses germes et comme un jardin fait germer ses semences, ainsi le Seigneur, l'Eternel, fera germer la justice et la louange à la vue de toutes les nations.
