Oui, j'ai parlé sans comprendre ; Ce sont choses trop élevées pour moi et que je ne connaissais pas. 4 Ecoute, je te prie, et je parlerai ; Je t'interrogerai, et tu m'instruiras. 5 Mon oreille avait entendu parler de toi ; Maintenant mon œil t'a vu. 6 C'est pourquoi je me rétracte et je me repens Sur la poussière et sur la cendre. 7 Après avoir adressé ces paroles à Job, l'Eternel dit à Eliphaz de Théman : Ma colère s'est embrasée contre toi et contre tes deux amis, car vous n'avez pas parlé selon la vérité à mon égard, comme mon serviteur Job. 8 Et maintenant prenez sept taureaux et sept béliers et allez vers mon serviteur Job et offrez-les en holocauste pour vous, et mon serviteur Job priera pour vous ; j'aurai égard à lui et ne vous traiterai pas selon votre folie, car vous n'avez pas parlé selon la vérité à mon égard, comme mon serviteur Job. 9 Et Eliphaz de Théman et Bildad de Suach et Tsophar de Naama allèrent et firent comme l'Eternel leur avait dit, et l'Eternel eut égard à Job. 10 Et comme Job priait pour ses amis, l'Eternel le rétablit dans son ancien état, et l'Eternel donna à Job le double de tout ce qu'il avait eu. 11 Tous ses frères et toutes ses sœurs et tous ses amis d'autrefois vinrent vers lui et mangèrent avec lui dans sa maison ; ils sympathisèrent avec lui et le consolèrent au sujet de tous les maux que l'Eternel avait fait venir sur lui, et lui donnèrent chacun une késita et un anneau d'or. 12 L'Eternel bénit la fin de Job plus que son commencement, et il eut quatorze mille brebis, six mille chameaux, mille couples de bœufs et mille ânesses. 13 Il eut sept fils et trois filles. 14 Il appela la première Jémima, la seconde Ketsia et la troisième Kéren-Happuc. 15 Il ne se trouva pas dans tout le pays de femmes aussi belles que les filles de Job, et leur père leur donna un héritage parmi leurs frères. 16 Après cela Job vécut cent quarante ans, et il vit ses fils et les fils de ses fils, jusqu'à la quatrième génération. 17 Et Job mourut âgé et rassasié de jours.
