Zechariah 11 (LBA)
1 Ouvre tes portes, Liban, et que le feu dévore tes cèdres ! 2 Lamente-toi, cyprès, car le cèdre est tombé, les [arbres] magnifiques ont été ravagés ! Lamentez-vous, chênes de Basan, car la forêt impénétrable est abattue. 3 On entend les lamentations des bergers, car ce qui était leur gloire a été ravagé ; on entend le rugissement des lionceaux, car ce qui faisait l'orgueil du Jourdain a été dévasté. 4 Ainsi a dit l'Eternel mon Dieu : Fais paître les brebis à tuer, 5 que leurs acheteurs tuent sans avoir à en répondre et dont ceux qui les vendent disent : Béni soit l'Eternel ! je m'enrichis ! et que leurs bergers n'épargnent point. 6 Car je n'épargnerai plus les habitants du pays, dit l'Eternel ; voici je livrerai les hommes chacun à son prochain et à son roi ; ils écraseront le pays, et je ne délivrerai plus de leurs mains. 7 Et je me mis à paître les brebis à tuer et aussi les plus misérables du troupeau. Et je pris deux houlettes, dont je nommai l'une Faveur et dont je nommai l'autre Liens, et je fis paître les brebis. 8 Et je retranchai les trois bergers en un seul mois ; et je perdis patience avec eux, et eux aussi s'étaient lassés de moi. 9 Et je dis : Je ne vous paîtrai plus : que celle qui meurt, meure ; que celle qui manque, manque ; et que celles qui restent, mangent chacune la chair de l'autre ! 10 Et je pris ma houlette Faveur et je la brisai pour rompre mon alliance que j'avais faite avec tous les peuples. 11 Elle fut brisée en ce jour-là, et ainsi les plus misérables du troupeau qui regardaient à moi connurent que c'était une parole de l'Eternel. 12 Et je leur dis : Si vous le trouvez bon, donnez-moi mon salaire ; sinon, n'en faites rien ! Et ils pesèrent mon salaire, trente sicles d'argent. 13 Et l'Eternel me dit : Jette-le au potier, le prix magnifique auquel j'ai été estimé par eux ! Et je pris les trente sicles d'argent et je les jetai dans la maison de l'Eternel au potier. 14 Puis je brisai ma seconde houlette Liens, pour rompre la fraternité entre Juda et Israël. 15 Et l'Eternel me dit encore : Prends l'attirail d'un mauvais berger. 16 Car je vais susciter dans le pays un berger qui ne s'inquiétera pas de celles qui manquent, qui ne cherchera pas ce qui est dispersé, qui ne pansera pas celle qui est blessée ; celles qui sont sur pied, il ne les nourrira pas ; il mangera la chair de celles qui sont grasses et fendra leur sabot. 17 Malheur au faux berger qui abandonne le troupeau ! Le dépérissement soit sur son bras et sur son œil droit ! Que son bras se dessèche et que son œil droit s'éteigne !
