1 Merī rūh shikastā ho gaī, mere din bujh gae haiṅ. Qabristān hī mere intazār meṅ hai. 2 Mere chāroṅ taraf mazāq hī mazāq sunāī detā, merī āṅkheṅ logoṅ kā haṭdharm rawaiyā deḳhte deḳhte thak gaī haiṅ. 3 Ai Allāh, merī zamānat mere apne hāthoṅ se qabūl farmā, kyoṅki aur koī nahīṅ jo use de. 4 Un ke zahnoṅ ko tū ne band kar diyā, is lie to un se izzat nahīṅ pāegā. 5 Wuh us ādmī kī mānind haiṅ jo apne dostoṅ ko ziyāfat kī dāwat de, hālāṅki us ke apne bachche bhūke mar rahe hoṅ. 6 Allāh ne mujhe mazāq kā yoṅ nishānā banāyā hai ki maiṅ qaumoṅ meṅ ibratangez misāl ban gayā hūṅ. Mujhe deḳhte hī log mere muṅh par thūkte haiṅ. 7 Merī āṅkheṅ ġham khā khā kar dhundlā gaī haiṅ, mere āzā yahāṅ tak sūkh gae ki sāyā hī rah gayā hai. 8 Yih dekh kar sīdhī rāh par chalne wāloṅ ke roṅgṭe khaṛe ho jāte aur begunāh bedīnoṅ ke ḳhilāf mushta'il ho jāte haiṅ. 9 Rāstbāz apnī rāh par qāym rahte, aur jin ke hāth pāk haiṅ wuh taqwiyat pāte haiṅ. 10 Lekin jahāṅ tak tum sab kā tālluq hai, āo dubārā mujh par hamlā karo! Mujhe tum meṅ ek bhī dānā ādmī nahīṅ milegā. 11 Mere din guzar gae haiṅ. Mere wuh mansūbe aur dil kī ārzueṅ ḳhāk meṅ mil gaī haiṅ 12 jin se rāt din meṅ badal gaī aur raushnī andhere ko dūr karke qarīb āī thī. 13 Agar maiṅ sirf itnī hī ummīd rakhūṅ ki Pātāl merā ghar hogā to yih kaisī ummīd hogī? Agar maiṅ apnā bistar tārīkī meṅ bichhā kar 14 qabr se kahūṅ, ‘Tū merā bāp hai’ aur kīṛe se, ‘Ai merī ammī, ai merī bahan’ 15 to phir yih kaisī ummīd hogī? Kaun kahegā, ‘Mujhe tere lie ummīd nazar ātī hai’? 16 Tab merī ummīd mere sāth Pātāl meṅ utregī, aur ham mil kar ḳhāk meṅ dhaṅs jāeṅge.”
