E também devem ter cuidado com o vício em vinho. 4 Elas devem ensinar o que é bom e devem orientar as jovens esposas a amarem ao marido e a seus filhos, 5 a serem prudentes e puras, trabalhando em suas casas, fazendo o bem e sendo obedientes ao marido. Dessa maneira, a palavra de Deus não será desacreditada. 6 E quanto aos jovens, diga-lhes para serem prudentes. 7 Você deve ser um bom exemplo em tudo o que faz. Mostre integridade e seriedade no que ensina 8 e compartilhe ensinamentos sadios, que não possam ser criticados. Pois, assim, aqueles que são contra ficarão envergonhados e não terão nada de ruim a dizer a nosso respeito. 9 Diga aos escravos para obedecerem aos seus senhores. Eles devem tentar agradar a quem servem e evitar contradizê-los. 10 Os escravos não devem roubar os seus senhores. Pelo contrário, eles devem se mostrar totalmente confiáveis, para que possam representar, da melhor forma possível, a verdade sobre Deus, o nosso Salvador. 11 Pois a graça de Deus foi revelada, trazendo a salvação para todos. 12 Ela nos ensina a rejeitar uma vida sem fé, entregue aos desejos deste mundo. Devemos, ao contrário, viver de uma forma prudente, equilibrada, que seja correta diante de Deus, no mundo de hoje, 13 enquanto aguardamos a bendita esperança e o aparecimento glorioso do nosso grande Deus e Salvador Jesus Cristo. 14 Ele deu a sua vida por nós, para que pudéssemos nos libertar de toda a maldade e para nos purificar, fazendo de nós um povo que pertence a ele e ansioso para praticar o bem. 15 É isso que você deve ensinar a todos. Você tem a autoridade para encorajar e também para corrigir as pessoas, quando necessário. Não deixe que ninguém o menospreze.
