Hebrews 5 (BOVCB)
1 Các thầy thượng tế đều là người được lựa chọn và bổ nhiệm thay mặt loài người phục vụ Đức Chúa Trời, dâng hiến lễ vật và sinh tế chuộc tội. 2 Thầy thượng tế cũng là người bất toàn, yếu đuối, nên có thể cảm thông với những người lầm lỗi. 3 Vì thế, ông phải dâng sinh tế chuộc tội, chẳng những cho dân chúng, mà cũng cho chính mình. 4 Không một người nào tự lập mình làm thầy thượng tế, vì chức vụ này do Đức Chúa Trời chọn lập, như trường hợp A-rôn. 5 Chúa Cứu Thế cũng không tự tôn mình làm thầy thượng tế, nhưng được Đức Chúa Trời tấn phong. Đức Chúa Trời phán:“Con là Con Ta;ngày nay Ta trở thành Cha của Con.” 6 Rồi Đức Chúa Trời xác nhận:“Con làm Thầy Tế Lễ đời đời theo dòng Mên-chi-xê-đéc.” 7 Chúa Cứu Thế khi sắp hy sinh đã nài xin Đức Chúa Trời, khóc lóc kêu cầu Đấng có quyền cứu Ngài khỏi chết. Vì lòng tôn kính nhiệt thành nên Ngài được Đức Chúa Trời nhậm lời. 8 Dù là Con Đức Chúa Trời, trong những ngày thống khổ Ngài phải học cách phục tùng Đức Chúa Trời. 9 Khi đã hoàn thành, Chúa làm Nguồn Cứu Rỗi đời đời cho những ai vâng phục Ngài. 10 Đức Chúa Trời đã bổ nhiệm Ngài làm Thầy Thượng Tế theo dòng Mên-chi-xê-đéc. 11 Tôi định khai triển vấn đề này, nhưng vì anh chị em chậm hiểu nên rất khó giải thích. 12 Đáng lẽ ngày nay đã làm giáo sư, nhưng anh chị em vẫn còn ấu trĩ, phải học đi học lại những chân lý sơ đẳng của Đạo Chúa. Anh chị em vẫn cần uống sữa, chưa tiêu hóa nổi thức ăn của người lớn. 13 Người sống nhờ sữa vẫn còn trẻ con, chưa biết phân biệt phải trái, chưa thể học hỏi về Đạo lý công chính của Chúa. 14 Thức ăn đặc dành cho người trưởng thành vì họ có kinh nghiệm, biết phân biệt thiện ác.
