Jonah 4 (CCB)

1 Apan wala malipay si Jonas ug naglagot siya pag-ayo. 2 Nagaampo siya sa “GINOO, wala gayod ako masayop sa akong gisulti sa didto pa ako sa among dapit! Mao man gani nga nagpahilayo ako ug miadto sa Tarshish tungod kay nasayod ako nga maloloy-on ka nga Dios ug may kahingawa. Mahigugmaon ka, daling malukmay, ug dili dali nga masuko. 3 Busa GINOO, kuhaa na lang ang akong kinabuhi, kay mas maayo pa nga mamatay ako kaysa mabuhi.” 4 Mitubag ang GINOO, “Angay mo ba kining ikasuko pag-ayo?” 5 Nigawas si Jonas ug nilingkod sa sidlakang bahin sa siyudad. Naghimo siya ug kapasilongan didto samtang naghulat kon unsa ang mahitabo sa siyudad. 6 Apan nainitan gihapon si Jonas, busa gipatubo sa GINOONG Dios ang usa ka tanom ug gipalapaw kini kang Jonas aron malandongan siya. Nalipay pag-ayo si Jonas sa tanom. 7 Apan pagkasunod adlaw, sa mobanagbanag pa lang, gipakaon sa Dios ngadto sa ulod ang tanom ug namatay kini. 8 Sa dihang misidlak na ang adlaw, nagpadala ang Dios ug init nga hangin gikan sa sidlakan. Nainitan ang ulo ni Jonas ug daw malipong siya. Busa nangandoy na lang siya nga mamatay. Miingon siya, “Mas maayo pa nga mamatay ako kaysa mabuhi.” 9 Miingon ang Dios kaniya, “Angay mo bang ikasuko pag-ayo ang nahitabo sa tanom?” Mitubag siya, “Oo, angay gayod ako nga masuko. Busa mas maayo pa nga mamatay na lang ako.” 10 Miingon ang GINOO, “Naanugnan ka man gani nianang tanom nga mitubo lang nga wala nimo hagoi, ug namatay lang dayon pagkasunod adlaw. 11 Ako pa kaha ang dili malooy sa Nineve, ang dakong siyudad nga may kapin sa 120,000 ka mga tawo nga wala makahibalo bahin sa akong mga balaod, ug may daghan pa nga mga mananap?”
