Numbers 36 (LBA)
1 Et les chefs de famille des fils de Galaad, fils de Makir, fils de Manassé, d'entre les familles des fils de Joseph, s'approchèrent et parlèrent devant Moïse et devant les princes, chefs de famille des fils d'Israël. 2 Et ils dirent : L'Eternel a ordonné à mon seigneur de donner le pays en héritage par le sort aux fils d'Israël, et mon seigneur a reçu de l'Eternel l'ordre de donner l'héritage de Tsélophcad, notre frère, à ses filles. 3 Si elles se marient à l'un des fils d'une [autre] tribu des fils d'Israël, leur héritage sera retranché de l'héritage de nos pères, et il s'ajoutera à l'héritage de la tribu où elles seront entrées, et il sera retranché du lot de notre héritage. 4 Et quand viendra le jubilé pour les fils d'Israël, leur héritage sera ajouté à l'héritage de la tribu où elles seront entrées, et leur héritage sera retranché de l'héritage de la tribu de nos pères. 5 Et Moïse donna, sur l'ordre de l'Eternel, cette instruction aux fils d'Israël : La tribu des fils de Joseph a raison. 6 Voici ce que l'Eternel ordonne au sujet des filles de Tsélophcad : elles se marieront à qui bon leur semblera ; toutefois elles se marieront dans une famille de la tribu de leurs pères. 7 Et l'héritage des fils d'Israël ne passera pas d'une tribu à l'autre, et les fils d'Israël se tiendront attachés chacun à l'héritage de la tribu de ses pères. 8 Et toute fille héritant d'un patrimoine parmi les tribus des fils d'Israël, épousera un homme d'une famille de la tribu de son père, afin que les fils d'Israël possèdent chacun l'héritage de leurs pères. 9 Et un héritage ne passera pas d'une tribu à une autre tribu, car les tribus des fils d'Israël se tiendront attachées chacune à son héritage. 10 Comme l'Eternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse, ainsi firent les filles de Tsélophcad. 11 Et Machla, Thirtsa, Hogla, Milca et Noa, filles de Tsélophcad, se marièrent avec les fils de leurs oncles. 12 Elles se marièrent dans les familles des fils de Manassé, fils de Joseph, et leur héritage resta dans la tribu de la famille de leur père. 13 Tels sont les commandements et les lois que l'Eternel donna par Moïse aux fils d'Israël dans les plaines de Moab, au bord du Jourdain de Jéricho.
