1 Du chef de chœur. Avec les flûtes. Psaume. De David. 2 Prête l’oreille à mes paroles, Seigneur, comprends mon murmure ! 3 Sois attentif à mes appels au secours, mon roi, mon Dieu ! C’est à toi que j’adresse ma prière. 4 Seigneur, le matin tu m’entends ; le matin je me présente à toi et je guette. 5 Car tu n’es pas un Dieu qui prenne plaisir à la méchanceté ; le mal ne séjourne pas auprès de toi. 6 Ceux qui font les fiers ne tiennent pas devant tes yeux ; tu détestes tous les malfaisants. 7 Tu fais disparaître ceux qui profèrent le mensonge. Le Seigneur a en abomination l’homme sanguinaire et trompeur. 8 Mais moi, par ta grande fidélité, je viens à ta maison ; dans la crainte qui t’est due, je me prosterne devant ton temple sacré. 9 Seigneur, conduis-moi dans ta justice, à cause de mes détracteurs ; aplanis ta voie devant moi. 10 Car il n’y a rien de sûr dans leur bouche. Leur sein n’est que ruine, leur gosier est une tombe ouverte, et leur langue se fait glissante. 11 Demande-leur réparation, ô Dieu ! Que leurs desseins amènent leur chute ! Rejette-les à cause de leurs transgressions sans nombre, car ils se rebellent contre toi ! 12 Alors tous ceux qui trouvent en toi un abri se réjouiront ; leur vie sera toujours un cri de joie. Tu les protégeras, et ils exulteront en toi, ceux qui aiment ton nom. 13 Car toi, Seigneur, tu bénis le juste ; comme un grand bouclier tu l’entoures de faveur.
