Proverbs 29 (SCHL)
1 Ein Mann, der allen Warnungen trotzt, geht plötzlich unheilbar zugrunde. 2 Wenn die Gerechten sich mehren, freut sich das Volk; wenn aber die Gottlosen herrschen, seufzt es. 3 Wer Weisheit liebt, macht seinem Vater Freude; wer aber mit Huren geht, bringt sein Vermögen durch. 4 Durch Recht bringt ein König das Land in guten Stand; ein Erpresser aber richtet es zugrunde. 5 Wer seinem Nächsten schmeichelt, stellt seinen Füßen ein Netz. 6 In der Übertretung des Bösewichts ist ein Fallstrick; aber der Gerechte wird jauchzen und frohlocken. 7 Der Gerechte berücksichtigt das Recht der Armen; der Gottlose aber ist rücksichtslos. 8 Leichtsinnige Leute stecken die Stadt in Brand; die Weisen aber dämpfen den Zorn. 9 Wenn ein Weiser mit einem Toren rechtet, so zürnt oder lacht dieser und es gibt keine Ruhe. 10 Die Blutgierigen hassen den Unschuldigen und trachten den Redlichen nach dem Leben. 11 Ein Tor läßt all seinem Unmut den Lauf; aber ein Weiser hält ihn zurück. 12 Wenn ein Fürst auf Lügenworte achtet, so werden alle seine Diener gottlos. 13 Der Arme und der Wucherer treffen einander; der HERR gibt ihnen beiden das Augenlicht. 14 Ein König, der die Geringen treulich richtet, dessen Thron wird beständig sein. 15 Rute und Zucht gibt Weisheit; aber ein sich selbst überlassener Knabe bereitet seiner Mutter Schande. 16 Wo viele Gottlose sind, da mehren sich die Sünden; aber die Gerechten werden ihrem Fall zusehen. 17 Züchtige deinen Sohn, so wird er dir Ruhe verschaffen und deiner Seele Wonne bereiten. 18 Wo keine Weissagung ist, wird das Volk zügellos; aber wohl ihm, wenn es das Gesetz bewahrt! 19 Mit bloßen Worten erzieht man sich keinen Knecht; denn wenn er sie auch versteht, so beugt er sich doch nicht darunter. 20 Siehst du einen Mann, der übereilte Worte spricht, so kannst du für einen Toren mehr Hoffnung haben als für ihn. 21 Verzärtelt man seinen Knecht von Jugend auf, so will er schließlich ein Junker sein. 22 Ein zorniger Mann richtet Hader an und ein hitziger viel Sünde. 23 Der Hochmut des Menschen erniedrigt ihn; aber ein Demütiger bekommt Ehre. 24 Wer mit Dieben teilt, haßt seine Seele; er hört den Fluch und zeigt es nicht an. 25 Menschenfurcht ist ein Fallstrick; wer aber auf den HERRN vertraut, hat nichts zu fürchten. 26 Viele suchen das Angesicht eines Fürsten; aber von dem HERRN kommt das Recht eines jeden. 27 Ein verkehrter Mensch ist den Gerechten ein Greuel; wer aber richtig wandelt, den verabscheuen die Gottlosen.
