1 Samuel 21 (AS21)

1  Davi foi a Nobe, ao sacerdote Aimeleque, que foi ao seu encontro tremendo e lhe perguntou: Por que vens só, sem ninguém que te acompanhe? 2 Davi respondeu ao sacerdote Aimeleque: O rei me encarregou de uma missão, dizendo: Ninguém saiba desta missão da qual te encarreguei e te dei ordens. Quanto aos homens, combinei um certo lugar onde eles estarão. 3 Agora, que tens à mão? Dá-me cinco pães, ou o que tiveres. 4 O sacerdote respondeu a Davi: Não tenho pão comum, mas tenho pão sagrado; se os homens pelo menos se abstiveram das mulheres, poderão comer. 5 Davi respondeu ao sacerdote e lhe disse: Sim, como de costume, nós nos privamos de mulher quando saímos. Os utensílios dos homens também foram consagrados, embora fosse para uma viagem comum; quanto mais hoje os seus utensílios seriam consagrados. 6 Então o sacerdote lhe deu o pão sagrado; porque não havia ali outro pão, senão os pães consagrados que haviam sido retirados de diante do SENHOR no dia em que foram substituídos por pão quente. 7 Naqueles dias, havia ali um dos servos de Saul, cumprindo deveres diante do SENHOR; ele se chamava Doegue, era edomeu, chefe dos pastores de Saul. 8 Davi disse a Aimeleque: Tu tens uma lança ou uma espada aqui? Porque eu não trouxe nem a minha espada nem as minhas armas, pois a missão do rei era urgente. 9 O sacerdote respondeu: A espada do filisteu Golias, a quem feriste no vale de Elá, está aqui enrolada num pano, atrás do colete sacerdotal; se quiseres, podes pegá-la, porque esta é a única que há aqui. E Davi disse: Não há outra melhor; dá-me a espada. 10 Naquele dia, Davi se levantou, fugiu de Saul e foi encontrar-se com Áquis, rei de Gate. 11 Mas os servos de Áquis lhe perguntaram: Este não é Davi, o rei da terra? Não era sobre ele que cantavam nas danças, dizendo: Saul matou milhares, mas Davi, dez milhares? 12 Davi pensou muito nessas palavras e teve muito medo de Áquis, rei de Gate. 13 Por isso, mudou de atitude na presença deles e fingiu-se de louco; ele riscava os portões e deixava correr a saliva pela barba. 14 Então Áquis disse aos seus servos: Vedes que este homem está louco! Por que o trouxestes a mim? 15 Será que me faltam loucos, para que o trouxésseis diante de mim para fazer loucuras? Ele entrará na minha casa?
