1 Depois do sábado, quando já despontava o primeiro dia da semana, Maria Madalena e a outra Maria foram ver o sepulcro. 2 Havia acontecido um grande terremoto, pois um anjo do Senhor havia descido do céu e, aproximando-se, removera a pedra e estava sentado sobre ela. 3 O seu aspecto era como um relâmpago, e suas roupas, brancas como a neve. 4 Os guardas tremeram de medo e ficaram como mortos diante dele. 5 Mas o anjo disse às mulheres: Não temais; pois eu sei que procurais Jesus, que foi crucificado. 6 Ele não está aqui, mas ressuscitou, como havia falado. Vinde, vede o lugar onde ele estava. 7 Ide depressa e dizei aos seus discípulos que ele ressuscitou dos mortos e vai adiante de vós para a Galileia; lá o vereis. Eu vos avisei. 8 Elas, então, saindo apressadamente do sepulcro, com temor e grande alegria, correram para contar tudo aos discípulos. 9 E Jesus foi ao encontro delas, dizendo: Salve! E elas, aproximando-se, abraçaram-lhe os pés e o adoraram. 10 Então Jesus lhes disse: Não temais; ide dizer a meus irmãos que sigam para a Galileia; lá me verão. 11 Enquanto elas iam, alguns da guarda foram à cidade e contaram aos principais sacerdotes tudo que havia acontecido. 12 E, reunidos com os líderes religiosos, concordaram que dariam muito dinheiro aos soldados, 13 ordenando-lhes que dissessem: Os discípulos dele vieram de noite e levaram o corpo, enquanto dormíamos. 14 E, se isso chegar aos ouvidos do governador, nós o convenceremos e vos livraremos de problemas. 15 Então eles, tendo recebido o dinheiro, fizeram conforme instruídos. E essa história tem sido divulgada entre os judeus até o dia de hoje. 16 E os onze discípulos partiram para a Galileia, para o monte que Jesus lhes designara. 17 Quando o viram, adoraram-no; mas alguns duvidaram. 18 E, aproximando-se Jesus, falou-lhes: Toda autoridade me foi concedida no céu e na terra. 19 Portanto, ide, fazei discípulos de todas as nações, batizando-os em nome do Pai, do Filho e do Espírito Santo; 20 ensinando-lhes a obedecer a todas as coisas que vos ordenei; e eu estou convosco todos os dias, até o final dos tempos.
