1 Depois disso, Moisés falou aos líderes das tribos dos israelitas: Isto é o que o SENHOR ordenou: 2 Quando um homem fizer voto ao SENHOR, ou jurar obrigando-se a alguma coisa, não violará a sua palavra; fará tudo o que sair da sua boca. 3 Da mesma forma, se uma mulher jovem, que ainda vive na casa de seu pai, fizer um voto ao SENHOR, obrigando-se a algo, 4 e seu pai souber do seu voto e da obrigação que assumiu, e não disser nada, então todos os seus votos e toda a obrigação que assumiu serão válidos. 5 Mas, se seu pai, no dia em que o souber, desaprovar o que ela fez, todos os seus votos e todas as obrigações que assumiu deixarão de ser válidos; e o SENHOR a perdoará, porque seu pai não os aceitou. 6 Se ela se casar enquanto ainda estiverem valendo os seus votos ou a palavra irrefletida dos seus lábios, com a qual houver assumido uma obrigação, 7 e seu marido se calar no dia em que o souber, os votos dela e as obrigações que assumiu serão válidos. 8 Mas, se o marido desaprovar o que ela fez no dia em que o souber, anulará o voto que ela houver feito, como também a palavra irrefletida dos seus lábios, com a qual assumiu uma obrigação; e o SENHOR a perdoará. 9 A respeito do voto de uma viúva ou de uma divorciada, toda obrigação que assumir será válida. 10 Mas, se ela fez voto na casa de seu marido, ou se fez uma promessa com juramento, 11 e seu marido, mesmo sabendo, se calou, sem desaprová-la, todos os seus votos e toda a obrigação que assumiu serão válidos. 12 Se, porém, seu marido anulou tudo no dia em que ficou sabendo, tudo quanto saiu dos lábios dela deixará de ser válido, tanto os seus votos, como aquilo a que se obrigou; seu marido os anulou; e o SENHOR a perdoará. 13 Seu marido pode confirmar ou anular todo voto e todo juramento de obrigação que ela houver feito para se humilhar. 14 Mas, se o marido não lhe disser nada no outro dia, confirmará todos os votos e todas as obrigações que ela houver assumido. Ele os confirmou porque não lhe disse nada no dia em que ficou sabendo. 15 Mas, se os anular completamente depois de tê-los ouvido, levará sobre si o pecado dela. 16 São esses os estatutos que o SENHOR ordenou a Moisés, a respeito do marido e de sua mulher, e do pai e de sua filha, quando ela ainda for jovem e viver na casa do pai.
