Дык епіскап мусіць быць бездакорны, аднае жонкі муж, пільны, цьвярозы, сьціплы, гасьцінны, здольны навучаць, 3 3. ня п’яніца, не задзірлівы, ня сквапны, але спагадны, не ваяўнічы, не срэбралюбец, 4 4. каб добра сваім домам кіраваў, дзяцей меў у паслухмянасьці з усякай сумленнасьцю. 5 5. А калі хто ня ведае, як кіраваць уласным домам, як будзе клапаціцца пра Царкву Божую? 6 6. [Мусіць быць] не з нованаверненых, каб, узьбіўшыся ў пыху, ня трапіў пад прысуд з д’яблам. 7 7. Мусіць ён мець добрае сьведчаньне ад тых, што вонкі, каб ня трапіў у зьнявагу і пастку д’яблаву. 8 8. Дыяканы таксама [мусяць быць] сумленныя, не двудушныя, не прагавітыя на віно, ня сквапныя, 9 9. якія маюць таямніцу веры ў чыстым сумленьні. 10 10. І гэтакіх трэба перш выпрабоўваць, а пасьля, калі бездакорныя, няхай служаць. 11 11. Таксама жанчыны [мусяць быць] сумленныя, не паклёпніцы, пільныя, верныя ў-ва ўсім. 12 12. Дыяканы няхай будуць мужамі аднае жонкі, якія добра кіруюць дзецьмі і домам сваім, 13 13. бо хто добра паслужыў, здабывае сабе добрую ступень і вялікую адвагу ў веры ў Хрыста Ісуса. 14 14. Гэтае табе пішу, спадзеючыся неўзабаве прыйсьці да цябе, 15 15. каб ты, калі замаруджу, ведаў, як трэба жыць у доме Божым, які ёсьць Царква Бога Жывога, слуп і апірышча праўды. 16 16. І, бясспрэчна, вялікая ёсьць таямніца пабожнасьці: Бог зьявіўся ў целе, апраўдаў Сябе ў Духу, зьявіў Сябе анёлам, абвешчаны ў народах, прыняты вераю ў сьвеце, узьнесены ў славе.
