2 Corinthians 8 (BOVCB)

1 Chúng tôi xin báo cho anh chị em biết những phước lành Đức Chúa Trời ban cho các Hội Thánh xứ Ma-xê-đoan. 2 Trong lúc bị khó khăn thử thách, họ vẫn đầy lòng vui mừng, dù nghèo khổ cùng cực, họ vẫn rộng rãi cứu trợ mọi người. 3 Tôi xin xác nhận, không những họ đóng góp tùy khả năng, nhưng quá khả năng, với tinh thần tự nguyện. 4 Họ nài nỉ chúng tôi cho họ dự phần giúp đỡ các tín hữu tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. 5 Họ đã làm quá điều chúng tôi mong ước, trước hết họ hiến dâng tất cả cho Chúa, rồi cho chúng tôi, theo ý muốn Đức Chúa Trời. 6 Vậy chúng tôi khuyên Tích tiếp tục khích lệ anh chị em hoàn thành công việc từ thiện này, như đã khích lệ từ trước. 7 Tôi biết anh chị em trổi hơn người khác về nhiều phương diện—về đức tin, khẩu tài, kiến thức, nhiệt thành và lòng yêu thương chúng tôi, vậy anh chị em cũng nên làm trổi hơn trong cuộc tương trợ này. 8 Không phải tôi truyền lệnh cho anh chị em, nhưng tôi xem thấy nhiệt thành của nhiều người khác, tôi muốn anh chị em được dịp chứng tỏ lòng yêu thương của mình. 9 Anh chị em biết ơn phước vô hạn của Chúa Cứu Thế chúng ta, Ngài vốn giàu, nhưng vì hy sinh cứu vớt anh chị em mà trở nên nghèo, và do sự nghèo khổ của Ngài, anh chị em được giàu có. 10 Tôi nhắc nhở anh chị em việc quyên trợ này vì ích lợi cho anh chị em. Chẳng những đề xướng, anh chị em còn bắt đầu thực hiện việc từ thiện này từ một năm nay. 11 Vậy anh chị em hãy cố gắng chu toàn việc ấy. Điều anh chị em thiết tha mong muốn, hãy hoàn thành tốt đẹp tùy khả năng. 12 Ai muốn giúp đỡ, đừng ngại ít hay nhiều. Hãy đóng góp vật gì mình có, chứ đừng lo điều mình không có. 13 Tôi không có ý để người nhận lãnh ngồi chơi hưởng thụ, trong khi anh chị em phải đóng góp nặng nề. 14 Nhưng tôi muốn có sự đồng đều. Bây giờ phần thặng dư của anh chị em đem bù qua phần thiếu hụt của họ, để sau này, khi họ có dư sẽ bù lại phần thiếu hụt của anh chị em. 15 Như Thánh Kinh đã chép:“Người thu nhiều cũng chẳng thừa,người thu ít cũng chẳng thiếu.” 16 Cảm tạ Đức Chúa Trời đã cho Tích nhiệt thành giúp đỡ anh chị em như tôi. 17 Chẳng những nghe tôi khuyến khích, chính Tích cũng hăng hái tình nguyện đến thăm anh chị em. 18 Chúng tôi cử một thân hữu cùng đi với Tích, anh này được các Hội Thánh khen ngợi về việc truyền giảng Phúc Âm. 19 Anh được các Hội Thánh chọn làm đại biểu tham gia các cuộc quyên trợ chúng tôi tổ chức tại Giê-ru-sa-lem để tôn vinh Chúa và bày tỏ nhiệt tâm của chúng tôi. 20 Như thế chúng tôi tránh được mọi nghi ngờ, chỉ trích về số tiền quyên trợ to lớn họ ủy thác cho chúng tôi. 21 Chúng tôi làm mọi việc cách liêm khiết, chẳng những trước mặt Chúa, nhưng trước mặt người ta nữa. 22 Chúng tôi cử thêm một đại biểu khác. Trong nhiều công tác, anh luôn luôn siêng năng hăng hái. Nay anh càng sốt sắng đi thăm anh chị em vì rất tín nhiệm anh chị em. 23 Nếu ai hỏi về Tích, hãy cho họ biết Tích là bạn đồng sự với tôi, đặc trách giúp tôi phục vụ anh chị em. Còn hai thân hữu kia là đại biểu xứng đáng của các Hội Thánh, làm rạng rỡ Danh Chúa Cứu Thế. 24 Anh chị em hãy tỏ tình thương đối với họ, để các Hội Thánh biết rõ tôi đã không quá lời đề cao anh chị em.
