Proverbs 27 (ELBE)
1 Rühme dich nicht des morgigen Tages, denn du weißt nicht, was ein Tag gebiert. 2 Es rühme dich ein anderer und nicht dein Mund, ein Fremder und nicht deine Lippen. 3 Schwer ist der Stein, und der Sand eine Last; aber der Unmut des Narren ist schwerer als beide. 4 Grimm ist grausam, und Zorn eine überströmende Flut; wer aber kann vor der Eifersucht bestehen! 5 Besser offener Tadel als verschwiegene Liebe. 6 Treu gemeint sind die Wunden dessen, der liebt, und überreichlich die Küsse des Hassers. 7 Eine satte Seele zertritt Honigseim; aber einer hungrigen Seele ist alles Bittere süß. 8 Wie ein Vogel, der fern von seinem Nest schweift, so ist ein Mann, der fern von seinem Wohnort schweift. 9 Öl und Räucherwerk erfreuen das Herz, und die Süßigkeit eines Freundes kommt aus dem Rat der Seele. 10 Verlass nicht deinen Freund und deines Vaters Freund, und geh nicht am Tag deiner Not in das Haus deines Bruders: besser ein naher Nachbar als ein ferner Bruder. 11 Sei weise, mein Sohn, und erfreue mein Herz, damit ich meinem Schmäher Antwort geben kann. 12 Der Kluge sieht das Unglück und verbirgt sich; die Einfältigen gehen weiter und erleiden Strafe. 13 Nimm ihm das Kleid, denn er ist für einen anderen Bürge geworden; und wegen der Fremden pfände ihn. 14 Wer frühmorgens aufsteht und seinem Nächsten mit lauter Stimme Glück wünscht – als Verwünschung wird es ihm angerechnet. 15 Eine beständige Traufe am Tag des strömenden Regens und eine zänkische Frau gleichen sich. 16 Wer dieses zurückhält, hält den Wind zurück und seine Rechte greift in Öl. 17 Eisen wird scharf durch Eisen, und ein Mann schärft das Angesicht des anderen. 18 Wer den Feigenbaum pflegt, wird seine Frucht essen; und wer über seinen Herrn wacht, wird geehrt werden. 19 Wie im Wasser das Angesicht dem Angesicht entspricht, so das Herz des Menschen dem Menschen. 20 Scheol und Abgrund sind unersättlich: So sind unersättlich die Augen des Menschen. 21 Der Schmelztiegel für das Silber, und der Ofen für das Gold; und ein Mann wird anhand seines Rufs beurteilt. 22 Wenn du den Narren mit der Keule im Mörser zerstießest, mitten unter der Grütze, so würde seine Narrheit doch nicht von ihm weichen. 23 Kümmere dich gut um das Aussehen deines Kleinviehs, richte deine Aufmerksamkeit auf die Herden. 24 Denn Wohlstand ist nicht ewig; und währt eine Krone von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht? 25 Ist das Heu geschwunden, und erscheint das junge Gras, und sind eingesammelt die Kräuter der Berge, 26 so dienen Schafe zu deiner Kleidung, und der Kaufpreis für ein Feld sind Böcke; 27 und genug Ziegenmilch ist zu deiner Nahrung da, zur Nahrung deines Hauses, und Lebensunterhalt für deine Mägde.
