Jeremiah 28 (LBA)
1 Cette même année, au commencement du règne de Sédécias, roi de Juda, la quatrième année, le cinquième mois, le prophète Hanania, fils d'Azzur, de Gabaon, me dit dans la maison de l'Eternel, en présence des sacrificateurs et de tout le peuple : 2 Ainsi parle l'Eternel des armées, Dieu d'Israël : J'ai rompu le joug du roi de Babylone. 3 Encore deux ans, et je ramène dans ce lieu tous les meubles de la maison de l'Eternel que Nébucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, a enlevés de ce lieu et qu'il a emportés à Babylone. 4 Je ramènerai aussi dans ce lieu-ci Jéchonias, fils de Jéhojakim, roi de Juda, et tous les captifs de Juda qui sont allés à Babylone, dit l'Eternel ; car je romprai le joug du roi de Babylone. 5 Et Jérémie le prophète répondit à Hanania le prophète en présence des sacrificateurs et en présence de tous ceux qui se tenaient dans la maison de l'Eternel ; 6 Jérémie le prophète dit : Amen ! Ainsi fasse l'Eternel ! Que l'Eternel accomplisse les paroles que tu viens de prophétiser, en ramenant de Babylone dans ce lieu les meubles de la maison de l'Eternel et tous les captifs ! 7 Toutefois, entends cette parole que je prononce à tes oreilles et aux oreilles de tout le peuple : 8 Les prophètes qui ont été avant moi et avant toi, dès les temps anciens, ont prophétisé à de nombreux pays et à de grands royaumes la guerre, le malheur et la peste. 9 Mais le prophète qui prophétisera du bien, ce sera quand sa parole s'accomplira que ce prophète sera connu avoir été véritablement envoyé par l'Eternel. 10 Alors Hanania le prophète prit le joug de dessus le cou de Jérémie le prophète et le rompit ; 11 et Hanania dit devant tout le peuple ces mots : Ainsi parle l'Eternel. C'est ainsi que dans deux ans je romprai de dessus le cou de toutes les nations le joug de Nébucadnetsar, roi de Babylone. Et Jérémie le prophète s'en alla. 12 Mais la parole de l'Eternel fut adressée à Jérémie après qu'Hanania le prophète eut rompu le joug de dessus le cou de Jérémie, le prophète, en disant : 13 Va, parle à Hanania en ces mots : Ainsi parle l'Eternel : C'est un joug de bois que tu as rompu, et tu as fait à sa place un joug de fer. 14 Car ainsi parle l'Eternel des armées, Dieu d'Israël : C'est un joug de fer que je mets sur le cou de toutes ces nations, pour qu'elles soient assujetties à Nébucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, et elles lui sont assujetties ; et je lui ai donné même les animaux des champs. 15 Puis Jérémie le prophète dit à Hanania le prophète : Ecoute, Hanania ! L'Eternel ne t'a pas envoyé, et tu as fait que ce peuple se confie au mensonge. 16 C'est pourquoi l'Eternel a dit : Voici, je te renvoie de dessus la face de la terre. Cette année même tu mourras, car ta parole a été une révolte contre l'Eternel. 17 Et Hanania le prophète mourut cette même année, au septième mois.
