Proverbs 12 (LBA)
1 Qui aime la discipline, aime la connaissance Mais qui hait la réprimande, est stupide. 2 L'homme de bien obtient la faveur de l'Eternel, Mais Dieu condamne l'homme aux desseins coupables. 3 L'homme ne s'affermit pas par la méchanceté, Mais la racine des justes n'est jamais ébranlée. 4 La femme vaillante est la couronne de son mari, Mais l'éhontée est comme la carie dans ses os. 5 Les pensées des justes ne sont que droiture, Les desseins des méchants, que tromperie. 6 Les paroles des méchants sont des embûches meurtrières, Mais la bouche des justes les délivrera. 7 Qu'on renverse les méchants, ils ne sont plus ; Mais la maison des justes subsistera. 8 On est loué d'après la mesure de son esprit, Mais le cœur dépravé sera méprisé. 9 Mieux vaut être humble et avoir un esclave, Que de faire le glorieux et de manquer de pain. 10 Le juste connaît les besoins de son bétail, Mais les entrailles des méchants sont cruelles. 11 Qui cultive son champ a du pain en abondance ; Mais qui poursuit des choses vaines n'a pas de sens. 12 Le méchant convoite la proie des pervers, Mais la racine des justes est féconde. 13 Dans le péché des lèvres, il y a un piège dangereux ; Mais le juste se tire de la détresse. 14 Par le fruit de sa bouche, l'homme se rassasie de bien, Et chacun reçoit le salaire de l'œuvre de ses mains. 15 La voie de l'insensé paraît droite à ses yeux, Mais qui écoute les avis est un sage. 16 L'insensé laisse voir son dépit à l'instant, Mais qui dissimule l'injure, est prudent. 17 Qui profère la vérité, exprime ce qui est juste, Mais le témoin mensonger, la tromperie. 18 Il est tel homme dont les paroles blessent comme des pointes d'épée, Mais la langue des sages guérit. 19 Les lèvres véridiques subsistent à toujours, Mais la langue fausse un instant. 20 La tromperie est dans le cœur de qui machine le mal, Mais il y a joie pour ceux qui ont des pensées de paix. 21 Au juste il n'arrive aucun mal, Mais les méchants en sont accablés. 22 Les lèvres menteuses sont en abomination à l'Eternel, Mais ceux qui agissent loyalement, lui sont agréables. 23 L'homme avisé cache ce qu'il sait, Mais le cœur des sots proclame sa sottise. 24 La main des diligents aura le commandement, Mais la [main] paresseuse sera asservie. 25 La tristesse dans le cœur de quelqu'un l'oppresse, Mais une bonne parole le réjouit. 26 Le juste indique le chemin à son compagnon, Mais la voie des méchants les égare. 27 Le paresseux ne fait pas lever son gibier, Mais l'activité est le plus précieux des biens. 28 Sur le chemin de la justice est la vie ; En le suivant, pas de mort !
