Deuteronomy 18 (AS21)
1 Os sacerdotes levitas e toda a tribo de Levi não terão parte nem herança com Israel. Comerão das ofertas queimadas ao SENHOR e da herança dele. 2 Não terão herança entre seus irmãos; o SENHOR é a sua herança, como lhes disse. 3 Este será o direito dos sacerdotes, o que receberão do povo, dos que oferecerem sacrifícios de boi ou de ovelha: o ofertante dará ao sacerdote a espádua, as queixadas e o bucho. 4 Darás ao sacerdote as primícias do teu trigo, do teu vinho novo e do teu azeite, e as primícias da tosquia das tuas ovelhas. 5 Porque o SENHOR, teu Deus, o escolheu dentre todas as tribos, para estar presente e ministrar para sempre em nome do SENHOR, ele e seus filhos. 6 Se um levita sair de alguma cidade de todo o Israel em que estiver habitando e vier com todo o desejo da alma ao lugar que o SENHOR escolher, 7 poderá ministrar em nome do SENHOR, seu Deus, como fazem todos os seus irmãos, os levitas, que estão diante do SENHOR. 8 Comerá uma porção igual à deles e terá o produto da venda do seu patrimônio. 9 Quando entrares na terra que o SENHOR, teu Deus, te dá, não aprenderás a fazer as abominações daqueles povos. 10 Não haverá contigo quem sacrifique o filho ou a filha no fogo, nem adivinho, nem prognosticador, nem agoureiro, nem feiticeiro, 11 nem encantador, nem quem consulte um espírito adivinhador, nem mágico, nem quem consulte os mortos; 12 pois o SENHOR detesta todo aquele que faz essas coisas, e é por causa dessas abominações que o SENHOR, teu Deus, os expulsa de diante de ti. 13 Serás perfeito para com o SENHOR, teu Deus. 14 Porque as nações que vais conquistar ouvem os prognosticadores e os adivinhos; mas o SENHOR, teu Deus, não te permitiu tal coisa. 15 O SENHOR, teu Deus, levantará um profeta semelhante a mim do meio de ti, dentre teus irmãos; a ele ouvirás; 16 conforme o que pediste ao SENHOR, teu Deus, no Horebe, no dia da assembleia: não quero mais ouvir a voz do SENHOR, meu Deus, nem olhar mais para este grande fogo, para que eu não morra. 17 Então o SENHOR me disse: Falaram bem naquilo que disseram. 18 Levantarei do meio de seus irmãos um profeta semelhante a ti e lhe porei na boca as minhas palavras, e ele lhes falará tudo o que eu lhe ordenar. 19 E pedirei contas de todo aquele que não ouvir as minhas palavras que ele falar em meu nome. 20 Mas o profeta que tiver a arrogância de falar em meu nome alguma palavra que eu não tenha mandado falar, ou o que falar em nome de outros deuses, este morrerá. 21 E, se disseres no coração: Como reconheceremos a palavra que o SENHOR falou? 22 Quando o profeta falar em nome do SENHOR e a palavra não se cumprir, nem acontecer como foi falado, é porque o SENHOR não falou essa palavra; o profeta falou por arrogância; não o temerás.
