2 Corinthians 4 (ELBE)

1 Darum, da wir diesen Dienst haben, wie wir begnadigt worden sind, ermatten wir nicht; 2 sondern wir haben den geheimen Dingen der Scham entsagt, indem wir nicht in Arglist wandeln, noch das Wort Gottes verfälschen, sondern durch die Offenbarung der Wahrheit uns selbst jedem Gewissen der Menschen empfehlen vor Gott. 3 Wenn aber auch unser Evangelium verdeckt ist, so ist es in denen verdeckt, die verloren gehen, 4 in denen der Gott dieser Welt den Sinn der Ungläubigen verblendet hat, damit ihnen nicht ausstrahle der Lichtglanz des Evangeliums der Herrlichkeit des Christus, der das Bild Gottes ist. 5 Denn wir predigen nicht uns selbst, sondern Christus Jesus als Herrn, uns selbst aber als eure Knechte um Jesu willen. 6 Denn der Gott, der sprach: Aus Finsternis leuchte Licht, ist es, der in unsere Herzen geleuchtet hat zum Lichtglanz der Erkenntnis der Herrlichkeit Gottes im Angesicht Christi. 7 Wir haben aber diesen Schatz in tönernen Gefäßen, damit die Überschwänglichkeit der Kraft sei Gottes und nicht aus uns. 8 Allenthalben bedrängt, aber nicht eingeengt; keinen Ausweg sehend, aber nicht ohne Ausweg; 9 verfolgt, aber nicht verlassen; niedergeworfen, aber nicht umkommend; 10 allezeit das Sterben Jesu am Leib umhertragend, damit auch das Leben Jesu an unserem Leib offenbar werde. 11 Denn wir, die wir leben, werden allezeit dem Tod überliefert um Jesu willen, damit auch das Leben Jesu an unserem sterblichen Fleisch offenbar werde. 12 So denn wirkt der Tod in uns, das Leben aber in euch. 13 Da wir aber denselben Geist des Glaubens haben (nach dem, was geschrieben steht: „Ich habe geglaubt, darum habe ich geredet“), so glauben auch wir, darum reden wir auch, 14 indem wir wissen, dass der, der den Herrn Jesus auferweckt hat, auch uns mit Jesus auferwecken und mit euch darstellen wird; 15 denn alles ist um euretwillen, damit die Gnade, überreich geworden durch die Vielen, die Danksagung zur Herrlichkeit Gottes überströmen lasse. 16 Deshalb ermatten wir nicht, sondern wenn auch unser äußerer Mensch verfällt, so wird doch der innere Tag für Tag erneuert. 17 Denn das schnell vorübergehende Leichte unserer Drangsal bewirkt uns ein über die Maßen überschwängliches, ewiges Gewicht von Herrlichkeit, 18 indem wir nicht das anschauen, was man sieht, sondern das, was man nicht sieht; denn das, was man sieht, ist zeitlich, das aber, was man nicht sieht, ewig.
