2 Corinthians 9 (LBA)

1 Car, à vrai dire, il m'est superflu de vous écrire au sujet de l'assistance destinée aux saints ; 2 car je sais quelle est la promptitude de votre volonté ; ce qui me donne sujet de me glorifier de vous auprès des Macédoniens, leur disant que l'Achaïe est prête dès l'année passée ; et votre zèle a stimulé la plupart. 3 Mais je vous ai cependant envoyé les frères, afin que notre sujet de nous glorifier de vous ne soit pas rendu vain à cet égard ; et que, comme je l'ai dit, vous soyez prêts ; 4 de peur que, si les Macédoniens viennent avec moi et ne vous trouvent pas prêts, cela ne tourne à notre confusion, pour ne pas dire à la vôtre, en cette confiance. 5 J'ai donc estimé nécessaire d'exhorter les frères à aller vers vous auparavant, et à préparer d'avance cette libéralité annoncée de votre part, afin qu'elle soit prête, comme une libéralité, et non comme une avarice. 6 Or voici ce que je dis : Celui qui sème peu, moissonnera peu, et celui qui sème abondamment, moissonnera abondamment. 7 Que chacun donne selon qu'il l'a résolu en son cœur, non avec tristesse, ni par contrainte ; car Dieu aime celui qui donne joyeusement. 8 Et Dieu est puissant pour vous combler de toute grâce, afin qu'ayant toujours en toutes choses tout ce qui vous est nécessaire, vous abondiez en toute bonne œuvre ; 9 selon qu'il est écrit : Il a répandu, il a donné aux pauvres ; sa justice demeure éternellement. 10 Celui donc qui fournit la semence au semeur, et du pain pour sa nourriture, fournira et multipliera votre semence, et augmentera les fruits de votre justice, 11 en ce que vous serez enrichis de toute manière pour cette entière simplicité, qui produit par nous des actions de grâces à Dieu. 12 Car l'administration de cette offrande non seulement comble ce qui manque aux saints, mais elle abonde aussi par beaucoup d'actions de grâces à Dieu. 13 Par l'expérience de ce secours, ils glorifient Dieu, à cause de votre obéissance dans la profession de l'Evangile de Christ et à cause de la simplicité de votre communication envers eux et envers tous, 14 et ils prient pour vous, vous aimant tendrement, à cause de l'excellente grâce de Dieu sur vous. 15 Grâces à Dieu pour son don ineffable !
