2 Chronicles 12 (SCHL)

1 Als aber Rehabeams Herrschaft befestigt und er stark geworden war, verließ er das Gesetz des HERRN, und ganz Israel mit ihm. 2 Da geschah es, daß im fünften Jahre des Königs Rehabeam Sisak, der König von Ägypten, wider Jerusalem heraufzog (denn sie hatten sich am HERRN versündigt) 3 mit 1200 Wagen und 60000 Reitern; und das Volk war nicht zu zählen, das mit ihm aus Ägypten kam: Lybier, Suchiter und Mohren. 4 Und er eroberte die festen Städte, die in Juda waren, und gelangte bis nach Jerusalem. 5 Da kam Semaja, der Prophet, zu Rehabeam und zu den Obersten Judas, die sich um Sisaks willen zu Jerusalem versammelt hatten, und sprach zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR: Ihr habt mich verlassen; darum habe auch Ich euch verlassen und in Sisaks Hand gegeben! 6 Da demütigten sich die Obersten Israels mit dem König und sprachen: Der HERR ist gerecht! 7 Als aber der HERR sah, daß sie sich demütigten, erging das Wort des HERRN an Semaja also: Sie haben sich gedemütigt, darum will ich sie nicht verderben, sondern ich will ihnen ein wenig Rettung verschaffen, daß mein Grimm durch die Hand Sisaks nicht auf Jerusalem ausgegossen werde. 8 Doch sollen sie ihm untertan sein, damit sie erfahren, was es sei, mir zu dienen, oder den Königreichen der Länder zu dienen. 9 Also zog Sisak, der König von Ägypten, nach Jerusalem hinauf und nahm die Schätze im Hause des HERRN und die Schätze im Hause des Königs und nahm alles hinweg, auch die goldenen Schilde, welche Salomo hatte machen lassen. 10 An deren Statt ließ der König Rehabeam eherne Schilde machen und übergab sie dem Obersten der Trabanten, die an der Tür des Hauses des Königs hüteten. 11 Und sooft der König in das Haus des HERRN ging, kamen die Trabanten und trugen sie und brachten sie wieder in der Trabanten Kammer. 12 Weil er sich nun demütigte, wandte sich der Zorn des HERRN von ihm, so daß nicht alles verderbt wurde; denn es war in Juda noch etwas Gutes. 13 Also erholte sich der König Rehabeam in Jerusalem und regierte. Denn einundvierzig Jahre alt war Rehabeam, als er König ward, und regierte siebzehn Jahre lang zu Jerusalem, in der Stadt, die der HERR aus allen Stämmen Israels erwählt hatte, daß er seinen Namen daselbst wohnen lasse. Seine Mutter aber hieß Naama, eine Ammoniterin. 14 Und er tat das Böse; denn er hatte sein Herz nicht darauf gerichtet, den HERRN zu suchen. 15 Die Geschichten aber Rehabeams, die früheren und die späteren, sind sie nicht geschrieben in den Geschichten Semajas, des Propheten, und Iddos, des Sehers, da die Geschlechter aufgezeichnet sind; dazu die Kriege Rehabeams und Jerobeams, ihr Leben lang? 16 Und Rehabeam legte sich zu seinen Vätern und ward begraben in der Stadt Davids; und Abija, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
