1 Ai Rab, yād kar ki hamāre sāth kyā kuchh huā! Ġhaur kar ki hamārī kaisī ruswāī huī hai. 2 Hamārī maurūsī milkiyat pardesiyoṅ ke hawāle kī gaī, hamāre ghar ajnabiyoṅ ke hāth meṅ ā gae haiṅ. 3 Ham wālidoṅ se mahrūm ho kar yatīm ho gae haiṅ, hamārī māeṅ bewāoṅ kī tarah ġhairmahfūz haiṅ. 4 Ḳhāh pīne kā pānī ho yā lakaṛī, har chīz kī pūrī qīmat adā karnī paṛtī hai, hālāṅki yih hamārī apnī hī chīzeṅ thīṅ. 5 Hamārā tāqqub karne wāle hamāre sar par chaṛh āe haiṅ, aur ham thak gae haiṅ. Kahīṅ bhī sukūn nahīṅ miltā. 6 Ham ne apne āp ko Misr aur Asūr ke hawāle kar diyā tāki roṭī mil jāe aur bhūke na mareṅ. 7 Hamāre bāpdādā ne gunāh kiyā, lekin wuh kūch kar gae haiṅ. Ab ham hī un kī sazā bhugat rahe haiṅ. 8 Ġhulām ham par hukūmat karte haiṅ, aur koī nahīṅ hai jo hameṅ un ke hāth se bachāe. 9 Ham apnī jān ko ḳhatre meṅ ḍāl kar rozī kamāte haiṅ, kyoṅki bayābān meṅ talwār hamārī tāk meṅ baiṭhī rahtī hai. 10 Bhūk ke māre hamārī jild tanūr jaisī garm ho kar churmur ho gaī hai. 11 Siyyūn meṅ auratoṅ kī ismatdarī, Yahūdāh ke shahroṅ meṅ kuṅwāriyoṅ kī behurmatī huī hai. 12 Dushman ne ra'īsoṅ ko phāṅsī de kar buzurgoṅ kī be'izzatī kī hai. 13 Naujawānoṅ ko chakkī kā pāṭ uṭhāe phirnā hai, laṛke lakaṛī ke bojh tale ḍagmagā kar gir jāte haiṅ. 14 Ab buzurg shahr ke darwāze se aur jawān apne sāzoṅ se bāz rahte haiṅ. 15 Ḳhushī hamāre diloṅ se jātī rahī hai, hamārā loknāch āh-o-zārī meṅ badal gayā hai. 16 Tāj hamāre sar par se gir gayā hai. Ham par afsos, ham se gunāh sarzad huā hai. 17 Isī lie hamārā dil niḍhāl ho gayā, hamārī nazar dhundlā gaī hai. 18 Kyoṅki Koh-e-Siyyūn tabāh huā hai, lomṛiyāṅ us kī galiyoṅ meṅ phirtī haiṅ. 19 Ai Rab, terā rāj abadī hai, terā taḳht pusht-dar-pusht qāym rahtā hai. 20 Tū hameṅ hameshā tak kyoṅ bhūlnā chāhtā hai? Tū ne hameṅ itnī der tak kyoṅ tark kie rakhā hai? 21 Ai Rab, hameṅ apne pās wāpas lā tāki ham wāpas ā sakeṅ. Hameṅ bahāl kar tāki hamārā hāl pahle kī tarah ho. 22 Yā kyā tū ne hameṅ hatmī taur par mustarad kar diyā hai? Kyā terā ham par ġhussā had se zyādā baṛh gayā hai?.
