1 Mere beṭe, merī hikmat par dhyān de, merī samajh kī bātoṅ par kān dhar. 2 Phir tū tamīz kā dāman thāme rahegā, aur tere hoṅṭ ilm-o-irfān mahfūz rakheṅge. 3 Kyoṅki zinākār aurat ke hoṅṭoṅ se shahd ṭapaktā hai, us kī bāteṅ tel kī tarah chiknī-chupṛī hotī haiṅ. 4 Lekin anjām meṅ wuh zahr jaisī kaṛwī aur dodhārī talwār jaisī tez sābit hotī hai. 5 Us ke pāṅw maut kī taraf utarte, us ke qadam Pātāl kī jānib baṛhte jāte haiṅ. 6 Us ke rāste kabhī idhar kabhī idhar phirte haiṅ tāki tū zindagī kī rāh par tawajjuh na de aur us kī āwāragī ko jān na le. 7 Chunāṅche mere beṭo, merī suno aur mere muṅh kī bātoṅ se dūr na ho jāo. 8 Apne rāste us se dūr rakh, us ke ghar ke darwāze ke qarīb bhī na jā. 9 Aisā na ho ki tū apnī tāqat kisī aur ke lie sarf kare aur apne sāl zālim ke lie zāe kare. 10 Aisā na ho ki pardesī terī milkiyat se ser ho jāeṅ, ki jo kuchh tū ne mehnat-mashaqqat se hāsil kiyā wuh kisī aur ke ghar meṅ āe. 11 Tab āḳhirkār terā badan aur gosht ghul jāeṅge, aur tū āheṅ bhar bhar kar 12 kahegā, “Hāy, maiṅ ne kyoṅ tarbiyat se nafrat kī, mere dil ne kyoṅ sarzanish ko haqīr jānā? 13 Hidāyat karne wāloṅ kī maiṅ ne na sunī, apne ustādoṅ kī bātoṅ par kān na dharā. 14 Jamāt ke darmiyān hī rahte hue mujh par aisī āfat āī ki maiṅ tabāhī ke dahāne tak pahuṅch gayā hūṅ.” 15 Apne hī hauz kā pānī aur apne hī kueṅ se phūṭne wālā pānī pī le. 16 Kyā munāsib hai ki tere chashme galiyoṅ meṅ aur terī nadiyāṅ chaukoṅ meṅ bah nikleṅ? 17 Jo pānī terā apnā hai wuh tujh tak mahdūd rahe, ajnabī us meṅ sharīk na ho jāe. 18 Terā chashmā mubārak ho. Hāṅ, apnī bīwī se ḳhush rah. 19 Wuhī terī manmohan hirnī aur dilrubā ġhazāl hai. Usī kā pyār tujhe tar-o-tāzā kare, usī kī muhabbat tujhe hameshā mast rakhe. 20 Mere beṭe, tū ajnabī aurat se kyoṅ mast ho jāe, kisī dūsre kī bīwī se kyoṅ lipaṭ jāe? 21 Ḳhayāl rakh, insān kī rāheṅ Rab ko sāf dikhāī detī haiṅ, jahāṅ bhī wuh chale us par wuh tawajjuh detā hai. 22 Bedīn kī apnī hī harkateṅ use phaṅsā detī haiṅ, wuh apne hī gunāh ke rassoṅ meṅ jakaṛā rahtā hai. 23 Wuh tarbiyat kī kamī ke sabab se halāk ho jāegā, apnī baṛī hamāqat ke bāis ḍagmagāte hue apne anjām ko pahuṅchegā.
