Haggai 1 (AS21)
1 No segundo ano do rei Dario, no primeiro dia do sexto mês, a palavra do SENHOR veio a Zorobabel, governador de Judá, filho de Sealtiel, e a Josué, sumo sacerdote, filho de Jeozadaque, por intermédio do profeta Ageu: 2 Assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos: Este povo diz: Não chegou ainda o tempo, o tempo de edificar a casa do SENHOR. 3 Esta palavra do SENHOR veio, por intermédio do profeta Ageu: 4 Por acaso é tempo de habitardes em casas bem acabadas, enquanto este templo continua em ruínas? 5 Assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos: Considerai o vosso passado. 6 Semeastes muito e recolhestes pouco; comeis, mas não vos fartais; bebeis, mas não vos saciais; vesti-vos, mas ninguém se aquece; e o que recebe salário, recebe-o para colocá-lo num saco furado. 7 Assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos: Considerai o vosso passado. 8 Subi ao monte para trazer madeira e edificai o templo; eu me agradarei dele e serei glorificado, diz o SENHOR. 9 Esperastes muito, mas veio pouco; e esse pouco, quando o levastes para casa, eu o dissipei com um sopro. Por que motivo?, diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos. Porque o meu templo está em ruínas, ao passo que cada um de vós cuida da própria casa. 10 Por isso, os céus retiveram o orvalho, e a terra reteve os seus frutos por vossa causa. 11 Mandei vir a seca sobre a terra, sobre as colinas, sobre o trigo, sobre o vinho novo, sobre o azeite e sobre tudo o que a terra produz; também sobre os homens e os animais e sobre todo o seu trabalho. 12 Então Zorobabel, filho de Sealtiel, e o sumo sacerdote Josué, filho de Jeozadaque, com todo o restante do povo, obedeceram à voz do SENHOR, seu Deus, e às palavras do profeta Ageu, a quem o SENHOR, seu Deus, havia enviado. E o povo temeu o SENHOR. 13 Então Ageu, o mensageiro do SENHOR, trouxe ao povo esta mensagem do SENHOR: Eu estou convosco, diz o SENHOR. 14 Então o SENHOR deu ânimo ao governador de Judá, Zorobabel, filho de Sealtiel, e ao sumo sacerdote Josué, filho de Jeozadaque, e a todo o restante do povo; e eles foram e começaram a trabalhar no templo do SENHOR dos Exércitos, seu Deus, 15 no vigésimo quarto dia do sexto mês.
