Naprawdę mamy powód do tego, aby zawsze dziękować za was Bogu! 4 Odwiedzając inne kościoły, z dumą opowiadamy o tym, że nawet prześladowania i trudności nie są w stanie osłabić waszej wytrwałości i wiary. 5 A wszystko to świadczy o sprawiedliwości Bożego sądu. Skoro cierpicie dla Jego królestwa, znaczy to, że jesteście godni do niego wejść. 6 Sprawiedliwe też jest to, że Bóg ukaże tych, którzy was prześladują, 7 a wam—i nam również—da odpocząć po tych wszystkich trudnościach. Stanie się to wtedy, gdy nasz Pan, Jezus, zstąpi z nieba razem z potężnymi aniołami. 8 Wówczas w płomieniach ognia ukarze tych, którzy zlekceważyli Boga i odrzucili Jego dobrą nowinę. 9 Ludzie ci zostaną skazani na wieczną zagładę—zostaną odcięci od obecności, majestatu i potęgi Pana. 10 W owym dniu Pan przyjdzie, aby odebrać chwałę i uwielbienie od swoich świętych i od wszystkich, którzy Mu uwierzyli. Wy również będziecie wśród nich, bo uwierzyliście w to, co wam przekazaliśmy. 11 Dlatego nieustannie modlimy się o was, abyście postępowali w sposób zgodny z waszym powołaniem i aby Bóg dał wam moc do wykonania tego, co zamierzacie i czego już się podjęliście. Są to bowiem czyny będące skutkiem waszej wiary. 12 Postępując tak, oddacie chwałę naszemu Panu, Jezusowi Chrystusowi, a On otoczy chwałą również was. Wszystko to jest możliwe wyłącznie dzięki łasce, okazanej nam przez naszego Boga oraz Jezusa Chrystusa, naszego Pana.
