1 Herren siger:„Moab har gjort oprør gang på gang,jeg vil ikke holde min straf tilbage.De hånede Edoms afdøde kongeved at brænde hans knogler til kalk. 2 Derfor sætter jeg ild til Moabnedbrænder Kerijots fæstningsværker.Moab vil gå til i kampens hede,vædderhorn og krigshyl viser dets fald. 3 Jeg tilintetgør landets kongeog gør det af med alle dets ledere.”Gud har talt! 4 Herren siger:„Juda har gjort oprør gang på gang,jeg vil ikke holde min straf tilbage.De har forkastet mine budog gjort oprør mod mine befalinger.De blev ført vild af de falske guder,som deres forfædre besluttede at følge. 5 Derfor sætter jeg ild til Juda,nedbrænder Jerusalems fæstningsværker.” 6 Herren siger:„Israel har gjort oprør gang på gang,jeg vil ikke holde min straf tilbage.De sælger de fattige som slaver,når de ikke kan betale deres gæld. 7 De træder de svage ned i skidtetog skubber de sagtmodige væk.Far og søn krænker mit hellige navnved at gå ind til den samme luder, 8 de lægger sig ved afgudsalteretpå kapper, de har taget i pant.I afgudstemplerne svælger de i vin,de har købt for penge, de har taget i bøder. 9 Har I glemt, at jeg udryddede amoritterne foran jer?De var høje som cedre og stærke som ege.Jeg rev bladene af demog skar rødderne over. 10 Var det ikke mig, som førte jer ud af Egyptenog holdt jer i live de 40 år i ørkenen?Var det ikke mig, der hjalp jer,så I kunne indtage amoritternes land? 11 Jeg lod nogle af jeres sønner vokse op som profeterog andre blev indviet som naziræere.Er det ikke rigtigt, mit folk, Israel? 12 Men I lokkede naziræerne til at drikke vin,og I forbød profeterne at profetere. 13 Derfor vil jeg knuse jer,som en vogn læsset med neg knuser, hvad den kører over. 14 Den hurtige når ikke at undslippe,den stærke har ikke gavn af sine kræfter.Krigeren kan ikke redde sit liv, 15 bueskytten kan ikke holde stand.De hurtigste løbere er for langsomme,rytterne når ikke at slippe væk. 16 Selv de modigste smider den dag deres våbenog flygter i håb om at redde livet.”Gud har talt!
