1 On entend dire généralement qu'il y a parmi vous de l'impudicité, et une impudicité telle, qu'elle n'existe pas même parmi les païens : au point que quelqu'un a la femme de son père. 2 Et vous êtes enflés d'orgueil, et vous n'avez pas plutôt été dans le deuil, afin que celui qui a commis cette action fût ôté du milieu de vous ! 3 Pour moi, étant absent de corps, mais présent d'esprit, j'ai déjà jugé, comme si j'étais présent, concernant celui qui a commis une telle action : 4 Au nom de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, vous et mon esprit étant assemblés, avec la puissance de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, 5 j'ai décidé de livrer un tel homme à Satan, pour la destruction de la chair, afin que l'esprit soit sauvé au jour du Seigneur Jésus. 6 Il ne vous sied point de vous glorifier : Ne savez-vous pas qu'un peu de levain fait lever toute la pâte ? 7 Otez le vieux levain, afin que vous soyez une nouvelle pâte, comme vous êtes sans levain ; car aussi Christ, notre Pâque, a été immolé ; 8 célébrons donc la fête, non avec le vieux levain, ni avec le levain de la malice et de la méchanceté ; mais avec les pains sans levain de la sincérité et de la vérité. 9 Je vous ai écrit dans ma lettre de ne point vous mêler avec les impudiques ; 10 non pas absolument avec les impudiques de ce monde, ou avec les avares et les ravisseurs, ou avec les idolâtres ; autrement, il vous faudrait sortir du monde. 11 Mais maintenant, je vous ai écrit de ne point vous mêler avec quelqu'un qui, se nommant frère, serait impudique, ou avare, ou idolâtre, ou outrageux, ou ivrogne, ou ravisseur, et de ne pas même manger avec un tel homme. 12 Car qu'ai-je à faire de juger même ceux qui sont du dehors ? Ne jugez-vous pas, vous, ceux qui sont du dedans ? 13 Mais Dieu juge ceux qui sont du dehors. Otez le méchant du milieu de vous.
