1 Zauważyłem, że Ten, który zasiada na tronie, trzymał w prawej ręce zwój papirusu, zapisany po obu stronach i opatrzony siedmioma pieczęciami. 2 Ujrzałem też potężnego anioła, który zawołał donośnym głosem: „Kto jest godny złamać pieczęcie i rozwinąć zwój?!”. 3 Nikt jednak—ani w niebie, ani na ziemi, ani pod ziemią—nie mógł go rozwinąć i przeczytać. 4 I rozpłakałem się, widząc, że nie znalazł się nikt, kto byłby godny to uczynić. 5 Wtedy jeden ze starszych pocieszył mnie, mówiąc:—Nie płacz! Lew z rodu Judy, potomek króla Dawida, jest zwycięzcą. On może rozwinąć zwój oraz złamać siedem pieczęci! 6 Wtedy zobaczyłem Baranka, stojącego przed tronem, w otoczeniu starszych i czterech istot. Wyglądał tak, jakby został złożony w ofierze. Baranek miał siedem rogów i siedmioro oczu, będących siedmioma Bożymi Duchami, wysłanymi na ziemię. 7 Podszedł On do Tego, który zasiada na tronie, i wziął z Jego prawej ręki zwój. 8 Gdy to uczynił, cztery istoty i dwudziestu czterech starszych upadło przed Nim na twarz, oddając Mu hołd. Każdy z nich miał w rękach harfę i złoty kielich napełniony kadzidłem—modlitwami świętych. 9 I śpiewali nową pieśń:„Zasługujesz na to, aby wziąć zwój,złamać pieczęcie i rozwinąć go.Zostałeś bowiem zabityi swoją krwią wykupiłeś dla Bogaludzi z każdego plemienia, języka, ludu i narodu. 10 Uczyniłeś ich kapłanami naszego Bogai członkami królewskiej rodziny,którzy będą rządzić ziemią”. 11 Potem zobaczyłem mnóstwo aniołów, otaczających tron, cztery istoty oraz starszych, i usłyszałem ich śpiew. Setki milionów aniołów 12 wołały:„Baranek, który został zabity,zasługuje na to, aby otrzymać władzę,bogactwo, mądrość i mocoraz odebrać cześć, chwałę i uwielbienie!”. 13 Usłyszałem również, jak każde stworzenie—na niebie, na ziemi, pod ziemią, na morzu oraz w jego głębinach—wołało:„Temu, który zasiada na tronie,oraz Barankowi należy sięwieczne uwielbienie,cześć, chwała i moc!”. 14 Po tych słowach cztery istoty powiedziały: „Amen!”, a starsi padli na twarz, oddając Mu pokłon.
