2 Samuel 16 (BOVCB)

1 Vừa đi quá đỉnh núi, Đa-vít gặp Di-ba, đầy tớ của Mê-phi-bô-sết. Di-ba dẫn hai con lừa trên lưng chất 200 ổ bánh, 100 bánh nho khô, 100 trái cây mùa hè, và 100 bầu rượu. 2 Vua hỏi: “Ông đem các thức ăn này đi đâu?”Di-ba thưa: “Đem lừa cho người nhà của vua cưỡi, bánh và các trái mùa hè cho các thanh niên ăn, rượu cho người ngất xỉu giữa hoang mạc uống.” 3 Vua lại hỏi: “Mê-phi-bô-sết ở đâu?”Di-ba thưa: “Ông ấy ở lại Giê-ru-sa-lem, vì nói rằng: ‘Ngày nay nhà Ít-ra-ên sẽ trả lại cho ta ngôi nước của ông cha ta.’” 4 Nghe thế vua nói: “Thế thì tất cả tài sản của Mê-phi-bô-sết về phần ông.”Di-ba thưa: “Xin cúi lạy vua. Chỉ cầu được vua thương tình.” 5 Khi Vua Đa-vít đến Ba-hu-rim, có một người từ nơi này đi ra chửi rủa vua. Người này là Si-mê-i, con Ghê-ra, họ hàng với Sau-lơ. 6 Si-mê-i nhặt đá ném Đa-vít và quần thần. Các dũng sĩ và mọi người đứng quanh để bảo vệ vua. 7 Người ấy luôn miệng chửi rủa: “Quân sát nhân, phường đê tiện, cút đi nơi khác! 8 Đức Chúa Trời báo oán cho gia đình Sau-lơ, máu họ đổ trên đầu ngươi. Ngươi cướp ngôi Sau-lơ, nhưng Đức Chúa Trời lấy ngôi lại đem cho Áp-sa-lôm con ngươi. Bây giờ ngươi bị hoạn nạn vì ngươi là đứa sát nhân.” 9 A-bi-sai, con Xê-ru-gia nói với vua: “Phường chó chết này sao dám chửi vua. Xin cho tôi đi lấy đầu nó!” 10 Vua nói: “Hỡi các con của Xê-ru-gia, không việc gì đến ông. Nếu Chúa phán người này nguyền rủa, ta là ai mà dám phản đối? 11 Con ruột ta còn muốn giết ta huống hồ người Bên-gia-min này. Cứ để cho người ấy nguyền rủa, vì Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo người ấy làm. 12 Biết đâu Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ trông thấy nỗi khổ của ta, ban phước lành cho ta vì ta đã chịu những lời chửi rủa này.” 13 Vậy Đa-vít và đoàn người tiếp tục đi, còn Si-mê-i đi vòng qua sườn đồi bên kia, vừa đi vừa rủa, vừa ném đá và hất tung bụi đất. 14 Đến Sông Giô-đan, vua và đoàn người đều mỏi mệt, nên dừng lại nghỉ ngơi. 15 Áp-sa-lôm, những người Ít-ra-ên theo ông và A-hi-tô-phe vào Giê-ru-sa-lem. 16 Hu-sai, người Ạt-kít, bạn của Đa-vít, đến với Áp-sa-lôm, và tung hô: “Hoàng đế vạn tuế, Hoàng đế vạn tuế!” 17 Áp-sa-lôm hỏi: “Đây là cách ông tỏ lòng chân thành với bạn mình sao? Tại sao ông không đi theo bạn ông?” 18 Hu-sai thưa: “Người được Chúa Hằng Hữu và toàn dân Ít-ra-ên chọn lựa là người tôi theo. 19 Hơn nữa, tôi nên giúp con của bạn tôi chứ. Tôi xin phò vua như đã phò cha của vua vậy.” 20 Áp-sa-lôm quay sang nói với A-hi-tô-phe: “Vậy, ông góp ý cho biết ta nên làm gì?” 21 A-hi-tô-phe bàn: “Vua nên đến cùng các cung phi của vua cha để lại giữ cung. Khi mọi người thấy vua công khai sỉ nhục cha như vậy, người phe vua mới mạnh bạo lên.” 22 Vậy, người ta che một cái lều trên nóc cung và trước mặt mọi người, Áp-sa-lôm vào lều với các cung phi của vua cha. 23 Lúc ấy, lời bàn của A-hi-tô-phe được coi như lời Đức Chúa Trời, vì thế A-hi-tô-phe bàn điều gì, Áp-sa-lôm làm điều ấy, cũng như Đa-vít trước kia vậy.
