Nahum 2 (ELBE)
1 Siehe, auf den Bergen die Füße dessen, der gute Botschaft bringt, der Frieden verkündigt! Feiere, Juda, deine Feste, bezahle deine Gelübde! Denn der Nichtswürdige wird fortan nicht mehr durch dich ziehen; er ist ganz ausgerottet. 2 Der Zerschmetterer zieht gegen dich herauf. Bewahre die Festung; überwache den Weg, stärke deine Lenden, befestige sehr deine Kraft! 3 Denn der HERR stellt die Herrlichkeit Jakobs wie die Herrlichkeit Israels wieder her; denn Plünderer haben sie geplündert und haben ihre Reben zerstört. 4 Die Schilde seiner Helden sind gerötet, die tapferen Männer sind in Karmesin gekleidet, die Wagen glänzen von Stahl am Tag seines Rüstens, und die Lanzen werden geschwungen. 5 Die Wagen rasen auf den Straßen, sie rennen auf den Plätzen, ihr Aussehen ist wie Fackeln, wie Blitze fahren sie daher. 6 Er gedenkt seiner Edlen: Sie stolpern auf ihren Wegen, sie eilen zu ihrer Mauer, und das Schutzdach wird aufgerichtet. 7 Die Tore an den Strömen sind geöffnet, und der Palast verzagt. 8 Denn es ist beschlossen: Sie wird entblößt, weggeführt; und ihre Mägde stöhnen wie die Stimme der Tauben, sie schlagen an ihre Brust. 9 Ninive war ja von jeher wie ein Wasserteich; und doch fliehen sie! Steht, steht! Aber keiner sieht sich um. 10 Raubt Silber, raubt Gold! Denn unendlich ist der Vorrat, der Reichtum an allerlei kostbaren Geräten. 11 Leere und Entleerung und Verödung! Und das Herz zerfließt, und die Knie wanken, und in allen Lenden ist Schmerz, und ihrer aller Angesichter erblassen. 12 Wo ist nun die Wohnung der Löwen und der Weideort der jungen Löwen, wo der Löwe wandelte, die Löwin und das Junge des Löwen, und niemand sie aufschreckte? 13 Der Löwe raubte für den Bedarf seiner Jungen und erwürgte für seine Löwinnen, und er füllte seine Höhlen mit Raub und seine Wohnungen mit Geraubtem. 14 Siehe, ich will an dich, spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, und ich werde ihre Wagen in Rauch aufgehen lassen, und deine jungen Löwen wird das Schwert verzehren; und ich werde deinen Raub von der Erde ausrotten, und die Stimme deiner Boten wird nicht mehr gehört werden.
