1 Yih ḳhat buzurg Yūhannā kī taraf se hai.Maiṅ apne azīz Gayus ko likh rahā hūṅ jise maiṅ sachchāī se pyār kartā hūṅ. 2 Mere azīz, merī duā hai ki āp kā hāl har tarah se ṭhīk ho aur āp jismānī taur par utne hī tandurust hoṅ jitne āp ruhānī lihāz se haiṅ. 3 Kyoṅki maiṅ nihāyat ḳhush huā jab bhāiyoṅ ne ā kar gawāhī dī ki āp kis tarah sachchāī ke mutābiq zindagī guzārte haiṅ. Aur yaqīnan āp hameshā sachchāī ke mutābiq zindagī guzārte haiṅ. 4 Jab maiṅ suntā hūṅ ki mere bachche sachchāī ke mutābiq zindagī guzār rahe haiṅ to yih mere lie sab se zyādā ḳhushī kā bāis hotā hai. 5 Mere azīz, jo kuchh āp bhāiyoṅ ke lie kar rahe haiṅ us meṅ āp wafādārī dikhā rahe haiṅ, hālāṅki wuh āp ke jānane wāle nahīṅ haiṅ. 6 Unhoṅ ne Ḳhudā kī jamāt ke sāmne hī āp kī muhabbat kī gawāhī dī hai. Mehrbānī karke un kī safr ke lie yoṅ madad kareṅ ki Allāh ḳhush ho. 7 Kyoṅki wuh Masīh ke nām kī ḳhātir safr ke lie nikle haiṅ aur ġhairīmāndāroṅ se madad nahīṅ lete. 8 Chunāṅche yih hamārā farz hai ki ham aise logoṅ kī mehmān-nawāzī kareṅ, kyoṅki yoṅ ham bhī sachchāī ke hamḳhidmat ban jāte haiṅ. 9 Maiṅ ne to jamāt ko kuchh likh diyā thā, lekin Diyutrifes jo un meṅ awwal hone kī ḳhāhish rakhtā hai hameṅ qabūl nahīṅ kartā. 10 Chunāṅche maiṅ jab āūṅgā to use un burī harkatoṅ kī yād dilāūṅgā jo wuh kar rahā hai, kyoṅki wuh hamāre ḳhilāf burī bāteṅ bak rahā hai. Aur na sirf yih balki wuh bhāiyoṅ ko ḳhushāmdīd kahne se bhī inkār kartā hai. Jab dūsre yih karnā chāhte haiṅ to wuh unheṅ rok kar jamāt se nikāl detā hai. 11 Mere azīz, jo burā hai us kī naql mat karnā balki us kī karnā jo achchhā hai. Jo achchhā kām kartā hai wuh Allāh se hai. Lekin jo burā kām kartā hai us ne Allāh ko nahīṅ dekhā. 12 Sab log Demetriyus kī achchhī gawāhī dete haiṅ balki sachchāī ḳhud bhī us kī achchhī gawāhī detī hai. Ham bhī is ke gawāh haiṅ, aur āp jānte haiṅ ki hamārī gawāhī sachchī hai. 13 Mujhe āp ko bahut kuchh likhnā thā, lekin yih aisī bāteṅ haiṅ jo maiṅ qalam aur siyāhī ke zariye āp ko nahīṅ batā saktā. 14 Maiṅ jald hī āp se milne kī ummīd rakhtā hūṅ. Phir ham rūbarū bāt kareṅge. 15 Salāmatī āp ke sāth hotī rahe.Yahāṅ ke dost āp ko salām kahte haiṅ. Wahāṅ ke har dost ko shaḳhsī taur par hamārā salām deṅ.
