Isaiah 24 (AS21)
1 Atenção, o SENHOR arrasa a terra e a devasta, arruína a sua superfície e dispersa os seus moradores. 2 O que acontecer ao povo, acontecerá ao sacerdote, ao servo e ao seu senhor, à serva e à sua senhora, ao comprador e ao vendedor, ao que empresta e ao que toma emprestado, ao credor e ao devedor. 3 A terra ficará totalmente devastada e saqueada, pois foi o SENHOR quem falou isso. 4 A terra chora e murcha; o mundo enfraquece e murcha; enfraquecem os mais nobres do povo da terra. 5 Na verdade, a terra está contaminada por causa de seus habitantes, pois desobedecem às leis, deturpam os estatutos e quebram a aliança eterna. 6 Por isso a maldição devora a terra, e os que habitam nela sofrem por sua culpa; por isso os seus habitantes são queimados, e restarão poucos. 7 O vinho se vai, a videira seca, e todos os que se alegravam gemem. 8 O ressoar dos tamboris parou, o barulho do povo em festa cessou, e a alegria da harpa acabou. 9 Já não bebem vinho ao som das canções; a bebida forte é amarga para os que a bebem. 10 A cidade de folias está destruída; todas as casas estão fechadas, de modo que ninguém pode entrar. 11 Gritam nas ruas por falta de vinho; toda a alegria acabou; o prazer da terra já se foi. 12 A cidade ficou toda destruída, e as suas portas, arruinadas. 13 Assim será na terra, entre os povos, como o sacudir da oliveira e como o apanhar das uvas que caem após a colheita. 14 Eles levantarão a voz e cantarão de alegria; clamarão desde o mar por causa da majestade do SENHOR. 15 Por isso, glorificai o SENHOR no oriente, e dai glória ao nome do SENHOR, Deus de Israel, na região litorânea. 16 Dos confins da terra ouvimos cantar: Glória ao Justo. Mas eu digo: Nada sou, nada sou; ai de mim! Os traidores continuam traindo! Os traidores continuam agindo traiçoeiramente. 17 O pavor, a cova e o laço vêm sobre ti, ó morador da terra. 18 Aquele que fugir do grito de pavor cairá na cova, e o que sair da cova será preso pelo laço; porque as janelas do alto se abriram, e os fundamentos da terra tremem. 19 A terra está toda devastada! Está toda destruída! Está totalmente abalada. 20 A terra cambaleia como bêbado e balança como rede de dormir; o seu pecado torna-se um peso sobre ela; ela cai e nunca mais se levantará. 21 Naquele dia, o SENHOR castigará os exércitos celestiais nas alturas, e os seus reis na terra. 22 Eles serão reunidos como presos numa cova e trancados numa prisão. Depois de muito tempo serão punidos. 23 Então a lua ficará desconcertada, e o sol, envergonhado, pois o SENHOR dos Exércitos reinará no monte Sião e em Jerusalém; e manifestará a sua glória diante dos seus anciãos.
