Romans 12 (LBA)
1 Je vous exhorte donc, frères, par les compassions de Dieu, à offrir vos corps en sacrifice vivant, saint, agréable à Dieu, ce qui est votre culte raisonnable. 2 Ne vous conformez pas au siècle présent, mais soyez transformés par le renouvellement de l'entendement, afin que vous discerniez quelle est la volonté de Dieu : ce qui est bon et agréable et parfait. 3 En effet, par la grâce qui m'a été donnée, je dis à quiconque se trouve parmi vous de n'avoir pas de lui-même une plus haute opinion qu'il ne doit ; mais d'avoir des sentiments modestes, chacun selon la mesure de foi que Dieu lui a départie. 4 Car, de même que, dans un seul corps, nous avons plusieurs membres, et que tous ces membres n'ont pas la même fonction, 5 ainsi, nous qui sommes plusieurs, nous formons un seul corps en Christ ; et nous sommes tous membres les uns des autres. 6 Or, ayant des dons différents selon la grâce qui nous a été donnée, exerçons-les : soit un don de prophétie, selon la mesure de la foi ; 7 soit un ministère, dans ce ministère ; soit celui qui enseigne, dans l'enseignement ; 8 soit celui qui exhorte, dans l'exhortation ; que celui qui donne le fasse avec simplicité ; celui qui préside, avec zèle ; celui qui exerce la miséricorde, avec joie. 9 Que la charité soit sans hypocrisie. Ayez le mal en horreur ; attachez-vous fortement au bien. 10 Quant à l'amour fraternel, soyez pleins d'affection les uns pour les autres ; quant à l'estime, faisant chacun passer les autres avant lui ; 11 quant au zèle, pas indolents ; quant à l'esprit, fervents ; servant le Seigneur ; 12 quant à l'espérance, vous réjouissant ; quant à l'affliction, patients ; quant à la prière, persévérants ; 13 pourvoyant aux besoins des saints ; exerçant l'hospitalité. 14 Bénissez ceux qui vous persécutent, bénissez et ne maudissez point. 15 Réjouissez-vous avec ceux qui se réjouissent ; pleurez avec ceux qui pleurent. 16 Ayez un même sentiment les uns envers les autres. N'aspirez pas aux grandeurs, mais marchez avec les humbles. Ne soyez point sages à vos propres yeux. 17 Ne rendez à personne le mal pour le mal. Appliquez-vous au bien devant tous les hommes. 18 S'il est possible, autant que cela dépend de vous, soyez en paix avec tous les hommes. 19 Ne vous faites point justice à vous-mêmes, bien-aimés, mais laissez agir la colère ; car il est écrit : C'est à moi de faire justice ; c'est moi qui rétribuerai, dit le Seigneur. 20 Mais, si ton ennemi a faim, donne-lui à manger ; s'il a soif, donne-lui à boire ; car, en faisant cela, tu amasseras des charbons de feu sur sa tête. 21 Ne te laisse pas surmonter par le mal, mais surmonte le mal par le bien.
