Salmo didático 1 Ó Deus, nós ouvimoscom os próprios ouvidos;nossos pais nos contaramo que fizeste outrora, em seus dias. 2 Com a tua mãoexpulsaste as naçõese estabeleceste os nossos pais;afligiste os povose ampliaste o territóriode nossos pais. 3 Pois não foi por sua espadaque eles conquistaram a terra,nem foi o seu braçoque lhes deu vitória,e sim a tua mão poderosa,e o teu braço,e a luz do teu rosto,porque te agradaste deles. 4 Tu és o meu rei, ó Deus;ordena a vitória de Jacó. 5 Com o teu auxílio,vencemos os nossos inimigos;em teu nome, pisamos sobreos que se levantam contra nós. 6 Não confio no meu arco,e não é a minha espadaque me salva. 7 Pois tu nos salvastedos nossos inimigose cobriste de vergonhaos que nos odeiam. 8 Em Deus, nos temos gloriadocontinuamentee para sempre louvaremoso teu nome. 9 Agora, porém, tu nos rejeitastee nos expuseste à vergonha,e já não acompanhasos nossos exércitos. 10 Tu nos fazes bater em retiradadiante dos nossos inimigos,e os que nos odeiamnos tomam por seu despojo. 11 Entregaste-nos como ovelhaspara o matadouroe nos espalhaste entre as nações. 12 Vendes por nada o teu povoe não tens lucro com a sua venda. 13 Tu nos fazes objeto de debochepara os nossos vizinhos,de escárnio e de zombariaaos que nos rodeiam. 14 Tu fazes de nós provérbioentre as nações;os povos nos veeme balançam a cabeça. 15 A minha humilhaçãoestá sempre diante de mim;o meu rosto se cobre de vergonha, 16 ante os gritos do que afrontae blasfema,à vista do inimigo e do vingador. 17 Tudo isso nos sobreveio;entretanto, não nos esquecemosde ti,nem fomos infiéis à tua aliança. 18 O nosso coraçãonão voltou atrás,nem os nossos passosse desviaramdos teus caminhos, 19 para nos esmagaresonde vivem os chacaise nos envolverescom as sombras da morte. 20 Se tivéssemos esquecidoo nome do nosso Deusou se tivéssemos estendidoas mãos a um deus estranho, 21 será que Deusnão teria descoberto isso,ele, que conheceos segredos dos corações? 22 Mas, por amor de ti,somos entreguesà morte continuamente,somos considerados como ovelhaspara o matadouro. 23 Desperta! Por que dormes,Senhor?Desperta!
