Człowiek ten zasiądzie w Bożej świątyni, twierdząc, że to on jest Bogiem. 5 Czy nie pamiętacie, jak mówiłem wam o tym, będąc z wami? 6 Dobrze wiecie, co go teraz powstrzymuje, i dlaczego nie może się ujawnić przed wyznaczonym czasem. 7 Jego tajna moc nieprawości jest już widoczna. Na razie jednak jest powstrzymywana przez Tego, który w pewnym momencie usunie się ze sceny. 8 Wtedy to pojawi się ów nieprawy człowiek, którego Pan zgładzi jednym tchnieniem ust i unicestwi samą swoją obecnością. 9 Pojawieniu się tego człowieka będą towarzyszyć potężne przejawy mocy szatana, fałszywe znaki i cuda. 10 W ten podstępny sposób oszuka on ludzi, którzy zmierzają ku zagładzie, dlatego, że nie przyjęli Bożej miłości i prawdy, prowadzących do zbawienia. 11 Z tego powodu Bóg pozwoli, aby zostali zwiedzeni i by bezkrytycznie uwierzyli w kłamstwo. 12 Wszyscy oni zostaną osądzeni przez Boga, dlatego że woleli czerpać przyjemność z grzechu, niż uwierzyć w prawdę. 13 Przyjaciele, Bóg okazał wam ogromną miłość! Naprawdę mamy więc powód do tego, aby Mu zawsze za was dziękować!
