1 Đây là thư của Phao-lô, Si-la, và Ti-mô-thê.Kính gửi Hội Thánh tại Tê-sa-lô-ni-ca, là Hội thánh của Đức Chúa Trời, Cha chúng ta và của Chúa Cứu Thế Giê-xu.Cầu xin Đức Chúa Trời ban ơn phước và bình an cho anh chị em. 2 Chúng tôi luôn cảm tạ Đức Chúa Trời vì tất cả anh chị em, nhắc đến anh chị em trong giờ cầu nguyện. 3 Mỗi khi cầu nguyện với Đức Chúa Trời, Cha trên trời, chúng tôi không bao giờ quên công việc anh chị em thực hiện do đức tin, những thành quả tốt đẹp do tình yêu thương và lòng nhẫn nại đợi chờ Chúa Cứu Thế Giê-xu trở lại. 4 Thưa anh chị em, chúng tôi biết Đức Chúa Trời đã yêu thương tuyển chọn anh chị em. 5 Vì chúng tôi công bố Phúc Âm cho anh chị em, không phải với lời nói suông nhưng với quyền năng Chúa Thánh Linh và niềm tin quyết. Ngay nếp sống chúng tôi cũng giúp anh chị em hiểu rõ Phúc Âm. 6 Anh chị em đã theo gương chúng tôi và theo gương Chúa. Giữa lúc vô cùng gian khổ, anh chị em đã tiếp nhận Đạo Chúa với niềm vui trong Chúa Thánh Linh. 7 Anh chị em làm gương cho tất cả tín hữu trong xứ Ma-xê-đoan và Hy Lạp. 8 Đạo Chúa từ nơi anh chị em đã vang dội khắp nơi, không những trong hai xứ ấy. Mọi người đều biết rõ lòng anh chị em tin kính Đức Chúa Trời, nên chúng tôi không cần nhắc đến. 9 Họ thường kể: Anh chị em tiếp đón nồng hậu sứ giả Phúc Âm, lìa bỏ thần tượng, trở về phụng sự Đức Chúa Trời, Chân Thần hằng sống, 10 và kiên tâm đợi chờ Con Ngài từ trời trở lại; vì Chúa Giê-xu đã phục sinh và cứu chúng ta khỏi cơn đoán phạt tương lai.
