Isaiah 23 (AS21)
1 Mensagem acerca de Tiro. Ó navios de Társis, chorai, porque ela está destruída, a ponto de não haver nela casa nem abrigo; essa mensagem lhe veio da terra de Chipre. 2 Moradores do litoral, calai-vos; vós, a quem os mercadores de Sidom enriqueceram, navegando pelo mar. 3 A semente de Sior, a colheita do Nilo, que são o seu sustento, foram-lhe trazidas por grandes águas; por isso ela se tornou o mercado das nações. 4 Ó Sidom, envergonha-te, porque o mar falou, a fortaleza do mar disse: Eu não tive dores de parto nem dei à luz, também não criei meninos nem eduquei meninas. 5 Quando as notícias de Tiro chegarem ao Egito, e lá forem ouvidas, todos ficarão angustiados. 6 Dirigi-vos a Társis e lamentai, moradores do litoral. 7 É esta a vossa cidade alegre, fundada em tempos antigos, cujos pés a levavam a conquistar terras distantes? 8 Quem designou isso contra Tiro, distribuidora de coroas, cujos mercadores eram príncipes e cujos negociantes eram os mais nobres da terra? 9 Foi o SENHOR dos Exércitos quem estabeleceu esse propósito para abater o orgulho de toda majestade e para humilhar os nobres da terra. 10 Percorre a tua terra como o Nilo, ó filha de Társis; já não há mais nada que te segure. 11 O SENHOR estendeu a mão sobre o mar e abalou os reinos; ordenou que fossem destruídas as fortalezas de Canaã. 12 E disse: Ó filha de Sidom, virgem oprimida, nunca mais te alegrarás. Levanta-te, atravessa até Chipre, mas mesmo assim não terás descanso. 13 Vede a terra dos babilônios, povo que já não existe! A Assíria a destinou para as feras do deserto; levantaram as suas torres de vigia; derrubaram os seus palácios e a reduziram a ruínas. 14 Lamentai, navios de Társis, porque a vossa fortaleza está arruinada. 15 Naquele dia, Tiro ficará esquecida por setenta anos, o tempo de vida de um rei; mas no fim de setenta anos acontecerá com Tiro o que se diz na canção da prostituta: 16 Pega a harpa, percorre a cidade, ó prostituta esquecida; toca bem, canta muitos cânticos, para que sejas lembrada. 17 No fim de setenta anos, o SENHOR visitará Tiro. Ela voltará à sua atividade de prostituta e se prostituirá com todos os reinos da face da terra. 18 O seu lucro e ganho de prostituta serão consagrados ao SENHOR; não se economizará nem se guardará. O seu lucro será dos que habitam na presença do SENHOR, para que comam bem e vistam belas roupas.
